Hanging from a precipice
The future beckons
Growling it comes near
The beast that would take my soul
I cannot fight it
The white snow falling
Beyond my window is cold
So monstrously cold
Glinting like jewels
Your eyes shine in the darkness
They move to watch me
It is time to rise
To stand up and be counted
Time to step forward
The darkness within
Yearns to break free of the chains
I wove around it
