The
'Italian Job' consisted of the band taking part in the town of
Castrovillari's 44th annual Carnival event which ran from 2nd to 12th
February. Many of the participants were local people but a large number
was made up of Folklore groups from various countries including Egypt,
Georgia, Sardinia, Spain, Yugoslavia and of course Scotland.
Every day, the band
marched through the streets and provided music at indoor and outdoor
events in Castrovillari and nearby towns. After daily duties, the band
took part in the artists' events in the evening, featuring a wide range
of music styles and dancing and usually consisting of a stage
performance and/or live television event.
The tour was a great success in terms of the professional way in which
the band conducted themselves before, during and after performances.
The band (the first pipe band to participate in the Castrovillari
event) was well received by both onlookers and organisers alike.
