In August 1999, the band participated in the Folk Music Festival in the Brittany town of Saint Malo. For six days at a variety of public events, the band made up part of the Scottish contingent along with acts from Ireland and France itself.

Every day, the band marched through the picturesque cobbled streets of the town, and provided music for outdoor events in St. Malo and nearby towns, including an exchange ceremony with Glasgow Lord Provost Alex Mosson. After daily duties, the band took part in the artists' events in the evening, featuring a wide range of music styles and dancing, not to mention an abundance of hospitality.

The band also took a quantity of their newly recorded CDs, and enjoyed a flurry of sales. The tour was a great success and the band were invited back to Saint Malo for a two week tour in July 2000 for the Folklore du Monde Festival and an International Folk Festival in the town of Vitre.
