Craig and myself were planning a trip to the Dolomites in august this year, for between two and one weeks and were trying to get a feel for any interest out there? For those that don't know the via ferrata were originally placed in the Dolomites for the Austrian/Italian troops to cross the mountains and have since been maintained as climbing/scrambling routes across most of the Dolomites, they vary from easy protected walkways to out and out rock climbs. We went last year and had a fantastic time, all you do is clip the wire and you are off!. There is a great 48-page article in AT (adventure travel) magazine this month (January) that's worth a look if you want to see more. Any one that's interested please call Craig or myself and we'll keep you posted! Cheers Mark. Tel 07973 896005. |
Due to new Fire Regulations
the JMCofS, who own Jock Spot's (the Hut for this year's March Meet), have
had to limit the number of bed spaces available. They also reserve 2 places
for their own club members during weekends. This means that we only have 8
places for Friday and Saturday night, and 10 during the week. Camping is not
allowed near the hut. I
am currently attempting to book several places at a bunkhouse 2 miles down
the road in Newtonmore so EVERYONE has sleeping
accommodation. What I need to know is how many people are coming and for how
long. Please could you confirm this by Saturday 12th Jan (with your £10
deposit). After that date you will have to make your own arrangements! |
