At its 2002 Annual General Meeting, Newtownabbey Ratepayers Association welcomed new members
who had joined to assist the Association in offering an alternative to political dominance and petty squabbling in the Local Council Chamber.

At the AGM the following officers were elected:

• Hon. Treasurer Pat Webb
• Press Officer John Blair
