Newtownabbey Ratepayers Association was formed in 1997 as a non-party-political, cross-community organisation to ensure that local issues would be given first priority in the Council Chamber at all times. The Association has had elected representation on Newtownabbey Borough Council since then.
Despite the highly polarised atmosphere of the June 2001 Local Elections,Councillor Billy Webb was re-elected in the Macedon area with an increased vote. He will continue to work for the benefit of everyone in Newtownabbey.
