(2002) This club is wicked! Anyone who's into rock has to go here! (Nat 2004) Dave - 2005 "As you walk into Casi, on a Friday night,
you are instantly confronted with a barrage of sensory experiences. Firstly,
the the large speaker stack, aimed at you from the far side of the dance
floor, smacks you around the face with the sound of the deliciously loud
guitar music. Secondly, the saki behind the bar burns your insides like a
thousand matches being ignited in your stomach. But probably the most
obvious thing is the smell of blood, sweat, tears, sex, drugs and
rock'n'roll. I believe it is fair to say, and most of my fellow
friday-nighters agree, that casi is not the best place in the world for
cleanliness, however, this compact little club does have its own charm. You
see its the people who make a place like casi brilliant. You can talk to
anyone there as long as you have something interesting to say, and if you
wanna dance, go and dance, someone will dance with you and if they don't,
who cares. The theory behind casi is simple, |

| This is a bar not a pub. It is a bar on Bridge
Street, the main street for bars in Warrington. Good bar with class music. Is getting
renovated - (2002) Best place to go in Warrington for garage and r'n'b tunes, I love this
place (plus Mr smiths on a soul night, which is the first wed. of every month!) -
(2001) (Paul 2004) I thought that it may be half decent, however the fact is the place of scallys in rockports and stripy jumpers. |

| WOW - What a dump this place used to be an okay

about 2 years ago. I think that was the last time it saw a cleaner. You have to see it to
believe it. That has all changed now. It's been pleasantly renovated and they do good honest food. It's now an option for a home cooked meal. -------------------------------------------- Bill 2006 "I went there yesterday and it's quite pleasant having all been revamped. Not a pub worth going out of your way for but for local people that fancy a drink or some cheap food it's quite good." |

| One of the worst pubs in Warrington - Unfortunate, it is also one
of the oldest buildings in Warrington. I think the review below is at least 10 years old
!!! and probably wrote by the owner ! The Oldest Pub in Warrington is the Black Horse on the now Old Liverpool Road (They just changed the name of the road). It was built in 1632 and it is said that old Oliver Cromwell stayed there planning things for the take-over of Warrington (this is the time when Warrington was valued at being worth a mere 4p!). One of the Arch Beams on the Gable end of the pub is said to have come from Nelsons flagship 'The Victory'. Anyway, it's quite a fine pub for the odd game of 'doms' or darts... Bingo is held on Wednesday nights and Quiznight is on a Thursday. The Landlord, Landlady and bar staff are always up for a natter plus there is a really huge beer garden with swings and stuff for the kids... |

| The Ferry Tavern in Penketh is a brill pub to sit and
have a laugh with your mates, the 250 whisky's that they have on the bar can also proove
for a entertaining night (and an expensive one)! The Ferry Tavern is a charming olde worlde pub situated on the banks of the Mersey. It's clear to see why it is the winner of CAMRA's waterside pub of the year award when they have such a lovely spot and a HUGE range of real ales and rare whiskeys. Also serve food, except Sundays, but come here for the beer! |

| This has to be one of the most popular pubs in
the town not just because of its central location but because it offers an excellent
choice of food and drinks at prices that are the lowest around. Weekdays often have
special offers on like Thursday curry nights where you can get a good curry meal and a
pint thrown in for just over a fiver! Mixed age group place even I don't feel too old in
there although I probably am. Two inevitable bad points, because of the low prices it
can get packed, especially at weekends with people getting tanked up before going to the
nightclubs with a big queue at the bar. Secondly despite he fact there's no music, the
place is deafening when packed, maybe because of the low ceiling just with the sound of
people talking! (Bill 2004)
What a great place if you like real ale!!!!! and cheap. (Dave 2005) - beware of the food though! |

Bill 2006 "This was one of my favourite pubs for a Friday night pint. A typical country pub, wood panelled, warm, welcoming and always quite busy especially on Friday's Karaoke night. Now after a change of ownership the place is deserted. The cozy atmosphere has been ruined by an excess of white paint over all the woodwork coupled with bright lights. The carpets have been replaced with modern wood flooring and it's now more like a McDonalds. Big Big mistake! At 10:30 there were just two of us in there! I won’t be going back!" -------------------------------------------------------- Haven't been in the Elliot since I was at college back in the dark ages but decided to give it a look on Friday night. Tastefully revamped pub with an excellent atmosphere and offering a couple of guest beers. The regulars were friendly and even tried to get us to sing (Karaoke night!). Didn't try the food or see the menu but judging by the number of people finishing their meals it cant be bad. The pubs on the main road out of Croft but well worth the ride out if you fancy a change. |

| "They Say" Formerly a Big Steak pub, The George & Dragon was converted to the popular Two For One concept on the 1st October 2002. This is a very attractive and well furnished pub offering customers fantastic value for money food in very comfortable and friendly surroundings. Come with friends and family and take advantage of our food deal. The Two for One deal lets you have a free main meal if you order for at least two people and purchase a main course at full price. After dining with us complement your meal with a glass or bottle of wine, tea, coffee or a quality pint at the bar. As well as the pubs bar and restaurant we have a very good outside enclosed beer garden with benches and a safe play area for the older children. Next to the pub young families can use our very popular Wacky Warehouse. For a very affordable charge children up to 4ft 9ins tall can use the modern play equipment and games which guarantees a great time! Whether you have a family, are disabled or just want to have a quiet pint, The George & Dragon will always welcomes you. |

| Seafood pancake starter being a very good but not too filling starter. (pate is another good starter but can be a main meal for me) The sea-bass with a black bean sauce (while having the disadvantage of not being mutated, ill tempered or having a "Friken" LASER on its head) is excellent. The black-bean source is placed on the side of the plate and is optimised to work with the sea-bass. (another one to go for is the rack of lamb. Haddock in prawn sauce are highly recommended as well. Chicken with Banana has been complimented by others in equal amount) .Venison (marinated/cooked in Gin) considered to be very good and flavoursome by someone claiming to be in the know. Chips are first class: possibly being of the tasty greasy pan fried variety and thus not destroyed by deep frying. Salad is very good, not being 90% lettuce but a well oiled mixture. Raspberry meringue with subtle ice-cream. (Yum!) Great, friendly atmosphere. Restaurant is not open Monday night. Restaurant (at least on Tuesday) opens at 7pm (just drink in the bar until time) and will generally accept guests to the restaurant until 9pm. The Australian Shiraz is a good wine to choose (A drinking - not a fighting wine). The 16 pound French wine (forgot the name - I am meant to be a tee-totaller) is a good complement to the Shiraz. (As I keep telling the "Scott Droid" - "life is too short to be spending money on cheap booze!" Stick clear of that Chateau Chunder!)( 22nd September 1999) | ||

| "Jeanette 2005" Been going
in the Horse Shoe for years and they rightly have a good reputation for
their food but they seem to be resting on their laurels too much at the
moment. Was in there yesterday and was totally put off, food was average at
best and was highly priced for the quantity given, vegetables once again
were cold and the woman on the till was very abrupt in her refusal when I
asked if I could have a jacket potato with my chicken instead of the offered
chips. There are plenty of other pubs in the area which do better food,
cheaper and in a cleaner and more friendly atmosphere. Time for a makeover. visit again = Only under duress beer = 2 Food = 4 Atmosphere = 3 Cleanliness = 0 friendly = 1 Value = 0 overall = 3 "Andy 2004" Pub is nothing special in itself , quite quaint inside and the Locals Pubs Pubs Pubs and staff are friendly enough. What sets this place aside is the quality of the food which is brilliant , based around French/Mediterranean cuisine it offers a rich and varied menu with the odd seasonal specials thrown in , all top quality stuff , none of your "Brewers Fayre" type rubbish , all freshly prepared bistro quality fayre , nicely presented and always delicious , we have eaten there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. They do a bar menu as well as the restaurant side which I believe (but have yet to try) is just as nice |

Listed as one of the most haunted pubs in England, It's a great place to visit mid afternoon if you like to drink in a smokey room full of old men. (Dave 2003) This Pub surprised me. It had clean carpets and is a pleasant pub to sit in. Well Done CAMRA North Cheshire's Pub of the Year 2003, the Lower Angel |

| I keep getting reviews through
for this place, Make your own mind up. This is the latest. (just to say, I'll not publish any more unless I think they are subjective and accurate.) lol. it is a propa pub marie. its just you arwe comparing to the ritz or something, your one of them snobs who havent a clue. next time i hope the staff make you wear the drink --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Marie 2005" This is supposed to be one of the those
pubs that has something for all the family. You can wait over an hour for
your meal, even when there are only half a dozen customers in. The
atmosphere is non-existent, the staff don't look a day over 14, and are more
interested in trying to hide behind the door than providing any service!
When you do get your meal, it won't be what you've asked for, and portion
sizes wouldn't fill a pygmy! All this served on to tables still sticky from
the last unfortunate family who sat there!!!

| "Jo 2005" Called in for
lunch and found it very frustrating to get to the bar which was crowded with
a bunch of hooray Henry's who had no intention of moving an inch for anyone,
(half expected Del Boy to pop up with a filofax in one hand and the
obligatory mobile in the other), finally got to the bar and was re-directed
round the corner to place my food order, so having done that we asked for
our drinks at the same time and were told we had to go back round to the bar
and struggle through the bunch of yuppies once more - how nice! Food and
drink were both okay although we did hear one man asking for mild beer and
being told they don't stock it so obviously if you don't drink lager it
might not be the place for you. Pub itself seems clean and there was loads
of room all around apart from in front of the bar where it was like a wasps
nest. If the bar area was cleared of bodies and drinks could be ordered with
your food it would be a much better place to visit. visit again = yes beer = 2 Food = 4 Atmosphere = 3 Cleanliness = 4 friendly = 3 Value = 3 overall = 5 |

| At least you can't complain if your
steak's not cooked properly, you cook it yourself.. On the face of it the
menu seems a little expensive at £15 plus but you have to remember this is
for soup, salad, main course, desert, cheese and biscuits and coffee. I had
the Safari Grill which consists of Wildboar, Springbock, Wilderbeast
and Zebra. For the more reserved the chicken comes precooked. ------ If you want something different for food and you like BBQ's then give this a try!! (Dave 2003) ----- Bloody great steak....possibly the best I have ever eaten! Got a very wide selection of wines, though lacking a bit in real ales. Suitable for families I would think. Not really bar food, more a restaurant, though I think bar food is available during the day. Got a great 'beer garden' out front and the landlord is a massive Wolves fan, always someone to talk to about the latest game! Have a 'party night' first Thurs every month with live music etc and they tend to celebrate all events with live music. Need to book at weekends as gets busy. Definitely worth a visit. (Lara 2004) |

| "Dave 2005" I called in to
see what this was like. The pub seemed like it could do with a good clean
but the menu seemed promising. I had bacon and liver salad with Balsamic
dressing. My wife had a soup (Seemed home made). A guy next to us had a
steak that looked superb. I shall try to call back and give the steak a
test. The beer was good. So I think that is thumbs up so far. Bad Mistake on return the service and food was sooooo bad! 4 meals all messed up. It was the end of the service and the chef rushed, after the main course they told us there was no one to do coffee or dessert the chef left at 9pm!!!! (Now that does not show any effort is being made) |

| John said..."We went to the Rams Head Inn, Grappenhall on the Thursday before Christmas and had an excellent meal. I had avoided going in there because a couple of years ago it wasn't very good, in fact the ale and the atmosphere was rubbish then. However I'd heard it had changed hands and the food was very good so decided to give it a try and wasn't disappointed. The new owners have really worked hard to turned things around so I'm planning to go back again soon. The other thing is that they've not messed around with the decor so it doesn't look a lot different from 30 years ago, just a bit smarter now."(2006) | ||

Come along to the Red
Lion, a converted Big Steak pub and have a great time with friends and family. In 2002 we
were refurbished and changed to the Two For One concept. We offer wholesome food from a
varied menu. The Two for One deal lets you have a free main meal if you order for at least
two people and purchase a main course at full price. Along with delicious food you can
choice from a wide selection of drinks including wines and a good range of coffees. With a
traditional atmosphere we are situated in the village of Penketh. This is a very family
friendly pub with a Wacky, an indoor play building designed for the kids. Children under
4ft 9ins tall can come and play with all the latest equipment, guaranteeing a fantastic
time. Whether it be food, drink or something for the family, all are welcome here.
"David Jones 2005"
I've visited this establisment many times, mostly on a sunday for my
sunday lunch & i can say i've never had a bad experience. It offers a
fantasic 2-4-1 deal of the food & a large selection of beers.
This is my favorite pub for both food & drink |

It is only served on the bar side. It can get very smokey in there though. They normally have 2 guest beers on. Menu is as expected. quite expensive and not the best quality -------------------------------------------------------- It's a nice pub but friends have visited and had poor meals on more than one occasion. |

| "Jeanette 2005" Just superb. Delicious food, beautifully prepared. Pub is clean and welcoming and staff are friendly and helpful. The Hickory Chicken is to die for and I'm sure everything else is equally delicious, my hubby has tried all sorts of things and says they are all great, but I just can't get beyond the chicken and think maybe I could live on it for ever more! Highly recommended | ||
