On 10 November 2005 I went to County Hall in Matlock with my family to receive my award for commitment to volunteering which I was given for my work with PATCH. (see the this news story for more details)
The coins were presented by the lord lieutenant of Derbyshire. For each award a brief piece was read out about the work the volunteer had done to receive the ward and there was a wide range of activities represented, from litter picking whilst walking the dog to a gentleman that kept a support venue going when the funding ran out.
