Albert Clarke of Stone Staffs at the Duke of Yorks camp Southwold 1937
As Duke of York, George VI had in 1921 established an annual camp for boys where public schoolboys and their less privileged contemporaries working in industry could meet on equal terms. As Duke, and later as King, George VI took a great personal interest in the camps, which he hoped would contribute to a better relationship between the classes.
Albert was nominated by Stone Lotus along with his cousin Victor Harris of York Street
