Michael was born in Blackburn , Lancashire , England U.K. and has a twin brother David . He started performing at the tender age of four years old. His late father William was a founder member of The Daly Boys Country and Western Band . As a child , his father would take him to the local working men's club , where he sang in front of a packed house for the very first time. Needless to say he way hooked and wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps.
In 1954 Michael's Mum passed away just after his fourth birthday and through her illness never had the chance to see her boy singing with his Dad. Michael never got over the loss of his Mum and it was years before he regained his confidence and self esteem .He attended St Josephs primary school before moving to Oswaldtwistle , Lancashire in 1959. Here he went to St Mary's school where he eventually found the courage once again to sing in front of his classmates.
Holy Family R.C. schooldays were the best days of his life. It was here , through the help of his music teacher Miss Doran , that Michael improved his vocal skills.
After leaving school he met up with some old schoolmates who had a band called the Gemini Sound and were looking for a front man vocalist. Michael joined them in 1966. The band soon had a reputable name on the working men's club scene and were never short of gigs.
In 1970 Michael Launched his own solo career on the club scene and soon became a favorite under the name of Michael Anthony. This was to be the start of a long and sometimes tiresome apprenticeship.
Remembering the old days and his father Michael once again was attracted to the country music scene. He was inspired by modern country music and formed a duo in 1999called Jailbreak.
He is currently a member of the Electric Cowboys who were formed in 2003.
