Higham Ferrers Footpath Group

Notes

MSQ: Market Square car park, Higham Ferrers
SR:    Saffron Road car park, Higham Ferrers

Please meet 5 minutes earlier than the time shown in the programme for car sharing.

All sporting and leisure activities have inherent hazards associated with them and rambling is no exception. In spite of the safety of members always being the paramount concern, accidents will occasionally occur. It is important, therefore, that when entering into the activity, each member appreciates that they have a responsibility to identify the hazards associated with the activity and take all reasonable steps to eliminate or minimise the potential for an accident to arise.

Children under 18 years are welcome on our walks but must be accompanied by an immediate adult family member (parent, elder sibling, grandparent).

Remember the Countryside Code. It is courteous not to walk in advance of the leader. Walkers are requested to leave dogs at home.

Bring a packed lunch and drink on day walks. Walks generally follow field footpaths which may be rough, wet or muddy. Wear stout footwear. Bring waterproof clothing in case of bad weather.

Visiting a country pub can be one of the pleasures of walking, but there are some things for walkers to remember:

Anyone is welcome to join our walks but we hope that you will become a member of our group. Subscriptions for 2008 are £3 per member.

Ideas for walks and offers to lead are welcome. Please see a committee member, or come to a committee meeting.

Good Walking!
