Wednesday 05/05/2094 6pm
Rehearsals
At 18:00 Charlie and Jennifer arrived. George and Kerstin
welcomed them.
Kerstin said. "Jennifer, Charlie is used to our ways but
George and I wonder what you think. What has Charlie told you?"
Jennifer said. "Charlie told me that you could guarantee
that we would be healthy for the rest of our lives if we did what
you told us to do. We both know that it involves what you call
sharing comfort. We both know that Spacers and non-Spacers never
get emotionally involved with each other and for you sharing comfort
is the way you show friendship. Charlie never tells me what you
do. All he has said is that you do not worry about wearing clothes
and you share comfort a lot. Everyone knows that you are highly
trained and talented people. Charlie thinks you are very nice
people to work for. He has often said to me that he can trust
any of you to be straight, honest, kind and helpful. He feels
that he must prove that he can be trusted never to say anything
about your affairs in return.
Charlie did say that you could do things for us which you would
show us tonight. Then we could choose any or none of the things
you offered. I am very intrigued and curious. I would love you
to show me everything you can do."
George said. "Would you two like to go to our cabin with
us so that we can show you our talents in relative privacy?"
Charlie said. "Yes Commander McFigg. I would feel easier
about it. In any case your cabin is nicely decorated, even if
I say so myself."
Kerstin said. "Jennifer, it would be easier if you called
us George and Kerstin. Shortly you will meet our partner Marita."
Jennifer said. "I asked Charlie about Marita but he would
not say anything except that she was officially dead. Is Marita
a ghost or something?"
George said. "In a way she is. Marita is a very beautiful
and friendly ghost."
When they arrived at the cabin Jennifer said. "What a beautiful
room. The bed is enormous. I have never seen a bed as big as that
before."
George said. "This cabin was designed to suit Marita. Charlie
organised it. Marita was as big as Kerstin so she needed a very
large bed. Now you can meet Marita. She is a ghost who looks almost
the same as Kerstin and she lives with Kerstin now."
Marita said. "Hello Jennifer. I know it seems strange because
I look like Kerstin talking to you. I am borrowing her body to
talk to you. When I had my own body it was hard for anyone to
tell which was Kerstin and which was me. Now we have only one
body between us, it is even harder to tell us apart. Our friends
know the difference and Charlie knows that I change Kerstin's
Lieutenant's tattoo to a Commander's tattoo to show I am here.
Watch the tattoo change. This is one of the simple things we can
do. Now we can start to show you what you asked for. We will tell
you what each thing is because many of the things cannot be seen,
they can only be felt. To start with, we will show you how we
make people feel happy to be with us. We will do it then stop
and do it again and stop. Then you will know that we are doing
it. How do you like that?"
Charlie and Jennifer started to speak together. "Marvellous/lovely!"
Marita said. "If you want us to do it all the time, say so
and it will be done."
The answer from both was "Yes please."
George said. "Now you are feeling more comfortable, Marita,
Kerstin and I want to give you a little test. It you can pass
the test without worrying too much, we will know what we can show
you without scaring you.
Charlie, take Kerstin's clothes off and you, Jennifer, take my
clothes off."
Kerstin helped Charlie to feel less nervous. Jennifer did not
need any encouragement.
Kerstin said. "Now I want you to have a good look at us.
Feel us as if you were doctors."
Charlie was still a bit hesitant but showed more confidence when
he saw how Jennifer was doing.
Kerstin said. "If you are ready, we will take your clothes
off so that we are all nude together."
Kerstin detected how Charlie was looking at her. She gradually
made him feel that it was a nice thing to do. He was obviously
affected by the way Kerstin removed his clothes. He almost wished
himself dressed so that she would do it again.
Jennifer saw how Kerstin was proud to show herself and tried to
copy her example. George sensed Jennifer's hungry looks and delicately
took away her inhibitions about touching him.
Charlie was standing proud and Kerstin made him feel proud to
offer himself to her.
Jennifer said to Charlie. "Ooh you do look good Charlie.
Treat Kerstin as you would me, I don't mind. I hope that you don't
mind if I play with George."
Charlie indicated his approval by kissing one of Kerstin's breasts.
Kerstin said. "We will be a lot more comfortable on the bed.
There is room for four of us. Then we can talk."
When they were on the bed Jennifer said. "I'm sorry Kerstin,
I don't feel like talking at the moment, I just feel like dreaming.
Can it wait until later?"
Charlie was in no mood to say that much. Kerstin was giving him
an introduction to his new hobby. George and Kerstin wished the
two well as they gave Charlie and Jennifer beautiful, long drawn
out samples of what they would experience a lot in the future.
Kerstin and George worked together to make Charlie and Jennifer
feel closer each other. Their recovery periods were reduced to
two minutes. Marita gave Charlie the ability to link directly
to the vidcom net. At the same time she arranged that he would
not have any calls that evening to disturb him.
When Charlie and Jennifer were recovering from their first experience
of Spacer comfort, George and Kerstin willed them to want to pay
attention to what was on offer.
George said. "You can start again if you like but you must
be prepared to listen and talk this time."
When he sensed that both were listening attentively, George began.
He said. "In a moment we will let you look into our minds.
You will know what we have given you already and how it will affect
you. You will also be able to see what else we can give you. Each
gift has its pros and cons. For example. We have shown you how
to share comfort Spacer style. You now know how beautiful it is.
The down side is that you will want to spend all your spare time
sharing comfort with each other. Look into our minds and see.
Do not hurry. It could take you more than an hour. We will keep
you both happy and comfortable while you are looking."
They felt what it was like to be Marita collecting rocks. They
felt Kerstin's shot in the leg. They saw the wonder of EDEN. They
felt what it was like to be with Undepoldus. They felt Marita's
pain and recovery. They knew what it was like to communicate directly
with Undepoldus. They experienced the friendship of sharing with
lots of people. They enjoyed the fun of Marita's pranks. They
felt what it was like to juggle cannon balls. They felt what it
was like to share with reversed gender. They knew how Kerstin
and George had changed into devils and back again. They knew what
it was like to communicate mentally with each other. They knew
that they loved George, Marita and Kerstin. They knew their lives
had changed forever. They knew who had been given youth and that
they could have it too. They knew that they were privileged to
be shown such wonders. They knew what they wanted to do. They
knew that it would be done as they desired it. They knew it had
been done. They knew that they had made the right decision. They
felt that they ought to help with the rehearsal. They thanked
George, Marita and Kerstin for everything. They wanted to convey
the happy news to the others and found that they had. They were
delighted by the welcome they received while they were still with
George and Kerstin. They were reminded that they still had unfinished
business and felt what it was like to be given phantom comfort
to help them do what was needed. They felt the companionship of
the others sharing with them as they tried to express their gratitude
to Kerstin, Marita and George. They cried with happiness.

Jennifer soon teamed up with Sarah and Eva as the rehearsal progressed.
They showed her how to be an demon in all forms and let her know
that they now regarded Spacer sharing as an essential element
of their lives.
Charlie appointed himself as stage manager. He knew how to organise
the equipment and facilities available better than anyone. He
linked in robots and processors to control the lighting, the curtains,
and the gravity neutralisers. Then he used his newly acquired
ability to link with the vidcom net to adjust and operate them.
All helped Marita develop her devilish looks. She tried hard to
produce good looking wings with advice from everyone but when
they became big enough they flopped down like the ears of a spaniel.
In the end she settled for small symbolic wings. Then, as Tun
Wong put it. "How would anyone know what real devils looked
like?"
Marita's maleness was more easily developed. Rachel and Annie
helped her to practice using it. The two girls were in their element
as they helped Marita rehearse tickling them under their chins
and other places. Then Marita tried out her new skills on the
other girls for the fun of it.
Charlie arranged low power gravity neutralisers in appropriate
places so that Marita could look even more demonic and still manoeuvre
without effort. He also organised a tracking microphone to magnify
her altered voice to a really thunderous level.
Marita held her shape as she helped the others practice turning
into what was laughingly called a standard demon. Rachel became
the standard version and the others did their best to look exactly
like her. They rehearsed switching from neuter to male, neuter
to female, male to female and female to male as a squad drill.
Then they created the individual devilish faces they would use
later in the presentation as they exchanged places. By the end
of the rehearsal they could all switch from one appearance to
another as easily as they could smile.
Charlie practised at not being seen so that he could move around
and make emergency repairs if needed without being noticed. He
made sure that all security cameras and recording equipment in
the suite were disabled.As the trial rehearsal came to an end,
robowaiters appeared from the service lift with refreshments for
everyone. Jennifer and Charlie felt elated at being united with
such a friendly group. Then they discovered that they would be
welcomed into the group more closely and energetically than they
had ever expected.

The Main rehearsal took place as planned with some of the crew
acting as councillors.
