Wednesday 05/05/2094 10 am
George said. "When should we deal with the other members
of the council Kerstin?"
Marita made an appearance. She said. "They do not want to
put any pressure at all on you two. In fact they dare not ask.
Undepoldus knows that they want to be like Tun Wong and Anne-Marie
as soon as you are happy to see them."
George said. "Marita, I think that the best way is to let
them know that Kerstin and I will be available when they want
to call. You know as well as we do that we only need somewhere
quiet and comfortable to lie down. We carry our equipment with
us all the time."
Marita said. "Consider it done George. Ivan suggests that
we use the top suite in the club. Then we can welcome them with
most of the crew at fairly short notice. The suite was last used
when all my students were there. It is the ideal place for welcoming
new members. I hear that Sarah wants you to make the party last
as long as possible. You will have all the support you want. We
can give the council members the run-around that we organised
for Mike and the others. I have just heard that Tun Wong, Annie
and Anne-Marie want to be there when the councillors are processed.
They want to revisit hell again as residents. It seems that we
will have a big party soon."
George said. "It is handy having you as a human communicator
Marita. I think that Kerstin and I will formally appoint you as
our resident witch. I hope that you won't feel lonely when your
other half goes and you only have Kerstin and me for company."
Marita said. "George, you are the sweetest man I have ever
known. You have always done your best for both Kerstin and me.
You always want to make sure that we are happy and have no worries
before you consider yourself. That is why we love you so much.
With Kerstin's permission I would like to show you how much I
love you."
Kerstin said.. "Forget the permission Marita, let us both
show George how much we love him. You can have him first but I
will be watching you more closely than anyone else ever could."
Marita said. "Kerstin! you are picking up my bad habits.
I can see that I will soon have competition as chief voyeuse."
Kerstin said. "As someone once said Marita, you are a very
good teacher."
Wednesday 05/05/2094 10:30am
Later Marita said. "The councillors will arrive at 18:00
on Friday. There will be six female and three male Spacers to
receive the gift. How can we deal with them all without making
them wait around?"
George said. "It is a pity that Derek and his family cannot
have the gift, otherwise they could help. I am trying to think
how I can deal with six females without making them wait or giving
any of them short change."
Kerstin said. "I have an idea. We have Tun Wong, Mike, Gurprit,
Ivan, Leonov and you. When we are in hell, none of them will know
who any of us are except Marita and me. If Kerstin is the chief
devil, Lan Fang, Rachel and Sil could join you men so that they
could all be processed at once. We can give the others the power
to pass on the gift for the one night."
George said. "We will have to organise a proper rehearsal
for a new spectacular. We can put on a better show than we did
in Undepoldus House if we plan things properly. I suggest that
we call as many of the crew together as we can and try to work
out a presentation to shake those councillors to their roots."
Marita said. "The call has gone out to convene at the top
suite at 11:00. Ivan will cover for Leonov. Lan Fang and Jane
are out at the moment but they should return before 12:30. Ivan
has asked Charlie to help us prepare the suite for an amateur
dramatics production to entertain the Council."
George said. "Charlie is very resourceful. He knows where
and how to get almost anything. He loves our technology but never
says anything about it outside the Club. I have some ideas that
might work. You two collate yours. Then when most of the crew
are available we can get their ideas. We should be able to fix
up something between us."
Kerstin asked. "George, would you mind being just an ordinary
devil like the rest?"
George said. "Not at all Kerstin. In fact I think that it
would be better if I appeared to be the same as the others. You
cannot hide yourself so you must be the master devil. I just think
that you could act like a judge and condemn all of them to purgatory.
We could all appear to be neuter and threaten them with being
neuter too. If the nine of us arranged to look like each other,
we could give them all some surprises."
Kerstin said. "I think that Marita should be in charge. She
can command more resources than I can. Undepoldus can help her
directly. He cannot help me except through Marita. It would be
fun for me to watch like I did with the witches and wizards."
Marita said. "I hope that you won't mind me messing around
with your body Kerstin. I want to look like the most evil male
devil that ever there was. The councillors do not know of a male
Spacer as big as we are. They do not know we can change our appearances.
With our nine identical demons, they will not know we are Spacers
at all."
Kerstin said. "I like being male now and again, particularly
if I am well-endowed. One can have a lot of fun with an emblem
that is half a metre long. I know what an evil mind you have Marita.
I also know that you will have to share this body with me for
a long time to come. I am sure that you won't cause it permanent
damage for your own sake as well as mine."
Wednesday 5th May 11am
Charlie was able to provide a set of gravity neutralisers to form
a virtual platform seven metres long. With the aid of some planking
they could be used to make a virtual stage. He also found some
lighting equipment and curtains from the days when the Club was
a hotel. Another idea he had was to reactivate a service lift
that was situated behind where the stage would be set up. George
and Kerstin tried to invent a suitable story to explain why his
help would not be needed during the rehearsal or the performance.
Charlie said. "I know what you lot are up to. I know that
there are a lot of top brass Spacers coming here tomorrow night
and they would not come here just for a social visit. You are
going to change them like you did the Rear Admiral and the Commander.
It is my job to know what is going on here so I can provide the
services you need when you want them.
You have forgotten that this place has hidden security cameras.
I saw what you did to Commander Smith in your cabin. Nobody else
saw the recordings but me. When I saw what you could do, I knew
that all recordings like that had to be erased - totally. If it
wasn't for me, a lot more people would know how Undepoldus has
changed you and a lot of others.
The day after Undepoldus changed the Commander I noticed that
he could hardly stay away from his wife. The day after, the Rear
Admiral was the same. It wasn't until I saw the recording with
Commander Smith that I saw how the Commander and his wife had
been changed. Then I realised that the other girl I didn't recognise
was Mrs. Chebychev. The other thing you forgot was the vidcom.
Although Commander Andersson is dead, all the processors in the
Club registered her as still being a resident. I checked and found
that she had made several calls and had been called and answered
after she was dead. The voiceprints matched her Big-Mar 207 identification.
I had to invoke Asimov to erase any traceable references to her
existence while allowing her to continue to use the vidcom.
I know that you can do a lot of magical things but your security
is as leaky as a sieve. I understand your Spacer ways and how
you don't care tuppence if someone sees a pair of you at play.
If my wife and I were a lot younger, we might have tried to join
you. Now we are too set in our ways to change. I don't want to
be made young again like the Commander and his wife. That is OK
for you Spacers because you can whizz off into Space where nobody
will notice that you are not getting older. I'm happy here on
the Earth where staying young would cause more problems than it
would solve.
Now stop pretending and tell me how you would like to scare the
brasshats out of their skins."
Marita said. "Charlie, you are a sweetie. Thank you for looking
after us so well. Undepoldus saved my personality and arranged
that I could share Lieutenant Broberg's body. You can tell all
the processors that I am actually dead because I do not need to
use the vidcom any more. You know that we have a lot of strange
and new powers. We would like to show our appreciation of your
help and discretion by rewarding you in a way that will not be
noticed. If you and your wife come here at 18:00 tonight, we can
make sure that you both will never suffer from any disease for
the rest of your lives. We will also show you other things that
we can offer you and you can choose whether you want them or not.
How would you like to be able to talk directly to a vidcom processor?
I can call you on the vidcom now just by thinking about it. The
call is untraceable. Listen."
The vidcom announced. "There is a call for Mr. Charlie
Potter from Lieutenant Broberg."
Charlie answered. "Maintenance, Potter here."
"This is Marita talking to you Charlie. You can hear my voice
both ways can't you?"
Charlie looked at Marita and then back at the vidcom and saw the
vidcom image growing hair."
How would you like to be able to do this Charlie? I think that
it could save you a lot of work."
Charlie said to the vidcom. "Can you prove that it is not
a trick?"
Marita answered. "Not very easily. I can show you something
that you might think is another trick."
The image changed to Charlie looking at the image of himself looking
at the vidcom in several iterations. As he turned his head, the
images moved as if he were watching how he would be seen by a
camera. He said. "
That is a good trick Commander Andersson but it does not prove
that you are communicating directly with the vidcom."
Marita said. "Come and stand by me and check what you see
happening on the screen."
Charlie walked slowly backwards towards Marita and saw his image
get larger as he did so.
Marita said. "You are seeing yourself as I see you. Now slowly
move your hand to cover my eyes as you watch the screen."
Charlie watched in amazement as he saw his hand gradually filling
the screen until all he could see on the screen was his hand.
He asked. "Have you got cameras for eyes Commander Andersson?"
"No, Charlie. I use Lieutenant Broberg's eyes as cameras.
If she shuts her eyes, the picture disappears. The vidcom processor
treats her blinks as temporary losses of signal and fills in with
previous signals. The result you see is just like a camera view."
"That would be very useful indeed Commander Andersson. Does
it work everywhere?"
"I don't know. I have only tested it as far as Basildon but
it could work further away from London. Clearing."
The vidcom images vanished.
"I will bring my wife here at 18:00. Please do not turn into
devils while she is here."
"I can promise you that we will all look normal."
"Thank you Commander Andersson for showing me your vidcom."
After Charlie had left George asked. "How will we treat Charlie
and his wife Marita?"
Marita said. "We will have to be a bit unethical. We will
have to make them share with us and then forget that they had."
Kerstin said. "I think that we had better tell them the truth.
Charlie knows the score. He saw how we treated Mike and he would
think we had done something different to him if sharing was not
involved."
After most of the crew had arrived, George looked around and could
not see Kerstin. He asked everyone there if they had seen where
she went. None had. George did not think she could have
gone far away so he decided to start the discussions on his own.
He said. "Kerstin and I suggest that Marita should be the
chief devil and nine of us should be demons. She will be male
and proud of it and we demons should be neuter to start with.
We demons will have to deal with nine councillors at once. We
will need three girls and six men. We have only five of us men
here now. Tun Wong will be recruited to be the sixth.
As you see, we have seven metres of gravity nullifier space that
we can use as a stage if we want to, and there is a service lift
we can use to get in an out unseen. Now I think of it, Kerstin
has probably used it to see where it goes. We want to put on a
good show. Your suggestions are needed now."
Rachel asked. "Only you and Kerstin can supply the gift.
How will you manage with nine councillors?"
"Kerstin and I will enable all demons to supply the gift
tomorrow night. All the councillors will get the gift at the same
time."
Mike said. "We will need someone to meet the councillors
when they arrive at the Club. Then they will have to be escorted
here. You did a grand job with me but I was only one and I knew
where I was going. Handling nine at once will be a lot more difficult."
Leonov said. "I think that all of us should be demons at
some time or another. Sarah and Eva can be demons while Ivan and
I handle the protocol. The councillors know that they will have
to be discreet so they won't expect a ceremonial welcome. Then,
when we have got them here, we can disappear and join the rest
of the demons."
Martha said. "We could stage it like a vidcom game show.
I am not sure what we would call it yet. I think that 'Be a Devil
and have some Fun' would be a bit obvious. I am sure that a better
title could be thought up. We start like a game show with the
councillors as the audience. We will apologise that they have
been brought here under false pretences so we are offering an
entertainment to keep them happy. Leonov and Ivan can tell them
that the game show is only an introduction. What they want will
come later. One or two of us can be fake contestants to start
it off. Then we will get some of the councillors to join in. As
it will be a Spacer game show, they will not worry if we are nude
and the contestants have to be nude. When we have had them all
on the stage, they will return to their seats nude. We will tell
them that they will all be expected to take part in the second
round after a short interval. Then, when the second round starts,
we will all be demons apart from Kerstin as the devil MC. That
is my idea for an introduction. Has anyone got any thoughts about
an alternative or ways to make my idea better?"
Rachel said. "I like that Martha. We could stage the show
as a sort of two team quiz. Three of us could be the resident
team and three councillors at a time could be called up on the
stage to be the challengers. I am sure that we could think up
some silly questions for them to answer."
Eva suggested. "If we could get all nine of them on the stage
at once on three settees, we could arrange that any team that
lost would drop down out of sight of the others and go down to
the underworld. When two teams have lost, the third team is told
that it has won the fabulous prize - a meeting with the king of
the underworld."
Gurprit said. "That could be tricky with the gravity neutralisers
Eva, but it is a brilliant idea."
Leonov said. "We could make those who go down to the underworld
come back shortly afterwards as devils and demons. We can make
each of them think that they have not been changed while the others
can see what they look like. If they try to talk to each other
they will not be able to. Those they speak to will not be able
to understand them. The unchanged contestants will look at the
changed ones in horror and the changed ones will become increasingly
horrified that they cannot communicate with the others."
Kerstin suddenly appeared apparently out of nowhere. She said.
"I like that Leonov. What you have just said fits in with
what I have been doing. I have been here all the time. I willed
you all not to see me and you couldn't see me. It is a variation
on the trick Undepoldus uses to disappear. I did not know how
easily or how well it would work. It became easier when you got
involved with your suggestions when you were not looking for me.
It worked very well so it is a trick that we all can use to add
confusion and mayhem among the councillors."
George said. "I would suggest a variation on your idea Leonov.
All those who have visited the underworld will think that they
have not been changed. Each one will think how dreadful it was
for the other eight and will find that none of them are recognisable.
Then the nine will find that they cannot communicate with each
other. It will be a form of Babel that will make them all very
scared."
Kerstin said. "I like that George. Then we can arrange that
they can only understand me. They will be in hell. Then we can
bring on the demons. The demons should be as grotesque as possible
with vestigial wings. I will tell them all they will have to couple
with the demons for 1,000 years."
Sil said. "I think that when we have made them enjoy the
sharing we should drive them as hard as possible until they faint.
Then we should start them going again and gradually turn back
to human while they are sharing. Then we drive them again until
they sleep and as they wake they are in hell again with reversed
gender. We drive them again until they sleep and then they wake
as humans with reversed gender. Then we drive them yet again.
They wake as humans with original gender. Then we please them
gently as humans. We demons will change over each time so that
when they wake each time it is with a different demon or human."
Rachel said. "That is excellent Sil. It is a good way to
get them sharing almost continually and it will give all of us
girls a chance to share as demons. I am sure that Annie and Anne-Marie
will want to take part. We will have nine female demons to deal
with three males. We can use Sil's idea to make sure that we get
two shares each."
Marita said. "I would like to have a little game with them
when they think it is all over. As humans they will all have tails.
Each of them will have an overwhelming desire to pick up the end
of another's tail and suck it. When this happens, the one whose
tail is sucked changes gender. He or she will want a tail to suck.
When he or she succeeds in getting a tail to suck he or she will
become aroused by having his or her tail sucked. When his or her
arousal cycle has peaked he or she will change gender again and
will become ever keener to suck a tail. I will try to get them
into a circle of tail suckers so that their arousal cycles and
genders continually go around the circle. It should be fun to
watch. We can try it ourselves when we have a rehearsal to see
how well it works. What do you think?"
Lan Fang said. "I think we could add to the fun so that whenever
the change is to male, it is half as big again as the last change
to male."
A few more interesting and wild ideas were circulated as the format
based on a game show became the chosen presentation. Tun Wong,
Annie and Anne-Marie were as keen as any to produce a frightening
and funny show.
