The following morning George and Kerstin acted as guards and lookouts
to check that nobody saw Leonov and Sarah return to their cabin.
Ivan had agreed to do the morning shift so that Leonov and Sarah
could have some time alone together.
George and Kerstin went to Undepoldus House to discuss with Undepoldus the arrangements for the few days that were left before he went away. Undepodus was not there. George tried to call him on the vidcom and got no answer. He said. "Processor, please state location of Undepoldus. Gee-Mac 207."
The processor answered. "Undepoldus is now supervising
the testing of his launch vehicle. He will return here this evening.
Do you want to give him a message?"
George said. "Inform him that his friends would like to meet
him this evening. I would like to talk to him when he is free
to use a vidcom."
The processor said. "Acknowledged." Lt. Cdr.
McFigg, there is a call for you from Commander Sincayvitch."
George said "Link and show, Gee-Mac 207."
Ivan said. "George, I have just been visited by Commander
Surgeon Michael Smith. He came to talk to me confidentially about
Leonov. He said that he suspects that Leonov is using drugs to
help him do his work. I peeped and saw that he does not suspect
me of anything but he is worried about Leonov. I said that I would
watch Leonov closely to see if I could find out what he was doing.
I suggested that he and I observe Leonov for a day or two to see
if he is behaving in an unusual way. I know that you want Mike
to join us but I don't know how we can entice him into a situation
where we can get him to join us. Have you any ideas?"
Kerstin said. "I will ask him if I can have a share Ivan.
Contact one of the girls to check what his share diary is like.
I know that he does not have a partner at the moment so he is
a free agent. I am sure that he would share with me or Marita
if one of us asked him."
Ivan said. "I will get Sil to pass the word round. I will
call you back when I have any news."
George said. "When you see Mike again, make him think of
Kerstin and give him just a touch of phantom comfort."
Ivan said. "Good idea George. Clearing."
Kerstin said. "I have another idea George. Processor, link
to Lt. Cdr. Gurprit Singh. Kay-Mac 207."
Gurprit's face appeared on the vidcom. He said. "Hello Kerstin,
what can I do for you?"
Kerstin said. "We need to get Mike Smith to join us as soon
as possible. If you see him, tell him that your share diary is
full and I have asked you for a share. Ask if he can accommodate
me."
Gurprit said. "I don't think that he gets that many requests
for shares. The girls that have shared with him have said he is
OK but a bit clinical. They said that they much preferred to share
with me when George was not available when he had you and Marita
to look after. When George was free some time ago, the girls said
that they always liked to share with him but not too often - no
more that three times a day! I think that recently I have had
three times as many shares as Mike. That was why I was so weak
and tired when I shared with you and you made me feel better."
Kerstin said. "I will leave it to you then Gurprit. If you
want to feel better again, you know where to come."
Gurprit laughed. He said. "OK Kerstin. Clearing."
George said. "I think that you have stirred the pot just
nicely Kerstin. I have the feeling that you are gradually being
overtaken by Marita's evil influence."
Marita said. "That was nice to hear George. Why do you think
that I wanted to be here with Kerstin if I did not want her to
adopt my evil ways. She is learning. She is a very good pupil.
She could use my devilish ways to seduce Mike."
Kerstin said. "That sounds like fun. I could turn into a
she devil while I am sharing with Mike."
Marita said. "I think it would be great if the rest of the
girls with George and Gurprit waited in your old cabin Kerstin,
and appeared at the right moment as the devil's demons."
George said. "I could be a male devil Marita. I can organise
a cape and a trident as props."
Kerstin said. "I am sure that Leonov, Eva, Ivan and Sarah
would love to watch. We could make it into a devilish good party."
The processor said. "Lieutenant Broberg, there is a call
for you from Lieutenant Commander Singh."
Kerstin said "Link and show, Kay-Mac 207."
Gurprit said. "Good news Kerstin. Mike said that he will
come to your cabin at 14:30. He said that he could not stop thinking
of you."
Kerstin said. "Ivan put that idea into his head with a touch
of phantom comfort. Contact Ivan and say that we will be ready
to run at 14:30. The rest of the crew including you should assemble
in my old cabin at 14:15 for briefing. George will explain the
devilish plan then. I will be the hungry, lonely Kerstin in our
cabin, waiting impatiently for Mike to arrive."
"Gurprit said. "It is a pity but Leonov will miss all
the fun. He will have to take over from Ivan this afternoon."
George said. "We can try to arrange that he is linked with
Ivan from his office so that he will be able to see what is happening
through Ivan. Check with Ivan to see if he and Leonov can link
from their offices."
Gurprit said. "Good thinking George. I am not sure what you
have planned but it will be great fun. Clearing."
George and Kerstin left to do some shopping for props. They found
a theatrical shop where they hired a complete devil's costume,
using a two credit piece as a deposit.
They returned to their cabin and Kerstin helped George to practise being a devil without the costume. Then George had to find out how to use his tail to find the hole in the back of the cloak and practice doing it until he could do it easily. George tried out the fake fangs but found them difficult to manage so he did not use them.
Kerstin rehearsed turning into a she devil while sharing comfort with George as his normal self. Then they shared some more as devils for the fun of it. They found that entwining their tails was like an interesting way of holding hands.
Gurprit and Ivan had spread the word so that when any of the crew were within sight of Mike in the Club, they would add a little to his thoughts about Kerstin and provide the gentlest touch of phantom comfort.
At lunch, Kerstin changed her face to took like Anita, one
of Marita's students. George changed his looks too. He looked
older with a double chin. Both he and Kerstin wanted to avoid
any contact with Mike until the appointed time. Then George sensed
Ivan probing for him. He conveyed back to Ivan: "Kerstin
and I look different now. We are avoiding Mike."
Ivan: "Leonov and I have done it together and I can do
it with you too now. What a brilliant way to communicate. Eva
and Sarah are itching to join in the fun but they do not know
yet what you have planned."
George: "Ivan, let it be a surprise."
Kerstin joined in: "Ivan, everyone has been making Mike
think of me with a touch of comfort thrown in. He must be desperate
to share with me now. If he comes early I will keep him waiting."
Ivan: "Gurprit told me that he had arranged things. I
can sense Mike now but he cannot sense me. You are right Kerstin.
He has decided to go back to his cabin to remove his formfit.
His desire for you is making him very uncomfortable now."
Kerstin: "He has never shared with Marita but he has heard
of her reputation for pleasing George. Marita stopped sharing
just before I arrived so he does not know what I am like. You
would probably know what rumours are going around about me and
my capacity for pleasing George. Gurprit told me that the girls
in the crew used to think that George was ideal for regular sharing
although they knew that they could only be with him now and again.
Do you know if that information links to my reputation Ivan?"
Ivan: "The story was that you were more capable than Marita
because you were younger. You were unattainable while Marita had
her body. You never shared with anyone except George. That made
you a bit of a mystery and more desirable. I can vouch for the
fact that you are now parsecs better than Mike's wildest dreams
about you."
Leonov: "Ivan has linked with me in a most beautiful way.
I can see what he sees now. Who is that Spacer with you Kerstin?"
Kerstin: "You missed our earlier exchange Leonov. That
is George. Link with George to see what I look like."
Leonov: "That is amazing Kerstin. I can switch between
you and George and see what you both look like. Sarah is dying
to know what you have in store for Mike."
George: "It won't be long now Leonov. Sarah will find
out everything in Kerstin's old cabin at 14:15. If you can sense
Mike, suggest to him gently that it would not be gentlemanly to
arrive too early."
Ivan: "He is in his cabin, fighting with indecision about
when to go to see you Kerstin. I have suggested that he should
not arrive early and it would be very silly to try to relieve
his feelings himself before he leaves his cabin. I have added
a tiny touch more phantom comfort to add to his impatience. I
know that it is naughty to tease him this way but Eva wanted me
to do it."
Eva was suddenly in contact too: "I have been with Ivan
while he was conveying with you. I would dearly like to tease
Mike until he gives way to his feelings. He is pacing up and down
in his cabin trying to think of words to say to you Kerstin. He
is thinking that he must make a good impression when he shares
with you for the first time. He is checking the time. He can see
it is just 14:00 and he still has half an hour to wait. Ivan and
I have had to strengthen his resolve not to play with himself.
He is so wound up that he can hardly stand it. He has tried to
distract himself with vidcom entertainments but he can only think
of you Kerstin."
Kerstin: "Try to make him relax a little with the thought
that he will definitely be with me soon. He must feel that nothing
can happen to stop him sharing with me. It will only be him and
me for the whole afternoon. He must not spoil it by being too
wound up about it."
Eva: "It is done Kerstin. He is waiting more patiently
now as he imagines different scenarios with you. Ivan and I will
be leaving for your old cabin soon. I hope that you won't mind
if we are a bit early."
George: "We are going there now. Leonov, please keep your
sense of Mike to make sure that he comes to us confident and ready
at the right time."
Leonov: "It will be my pleasure George. Go on and make
your preparations."
Kerstin and George resumed their normal appearances as they went
back to their cabin. Kerstin instructed the processor in her old
cabin to admit all the crew members as they arrived. She then
instructed the other processor to admit Mike Smith at 14:29 or
later.
She showered and then lay on the bed to practice switching her
appearance a few more times. The holo mirror in the ceiling enabled
her to make minor adjustments until she was happy with the impression
she would give.
George rehearsed his change a couple of times before Ivan and Eva arrived. Leonov conveyed to George that Mike's mood was gradually changing from impatient anxiousness to happy anticipation. The rest of the crew arrived together in a very light-hearted mood. George showed them his change and then advised them to use either of the hygiene station mirrors to model themselves as demons and monsters. Good skin colours would be bluish or greenish to contrast with his redness.
As they all experimented with different horrific versions of mythical underworld creatures there were hoots of laughter from both hygiene stations. As they emerged and joined George, he was unable to recognise any of them. Some were female and some were male. Most had tails and some had horns of various sizes. It was 14:25. Leonov conveyed to George that Mike was leaving his cabin.
Kerstin conveyed: "I will signal you when to come in. I want you to be seen just before I change. The he won't notice until he looks back at me. I will hold him in place and happy when he looks up to see you. Then, when I have changed, you take over the proceedings George."
