Robinson's tunnelling crew, and later, to the rest of Mr. Robinson's
staff.

Instruction Session
Undepoldus recognised all the men and women in the tunnelling
team as people who had asked him for information on sharing comfort.
He said. "I would like to say something to you all that relates
to what I have told you separately. As far as I can tell, you
all have a common interest that you dare not talk about much to
each other. I think that it would be a good thing for all of you
to talk about what I have shown you and to say whether you like
what you have seen or not.
I will try to make it easier for you. If you did not like what
I showed you, please raise one hand."
No hands were raised.
Undepoldus continued. "I will now ask you all a series
of questions that have the answer yes or no. If you wish to answer
any question with no, please raise one hand. Each question will
deal with what you all saw separately.
Did the recording you saw of my friends make you feel happy?
Would you have liked to have been present to see what was happening?
Would you like to have had the chance to join in?
If I could arrange it, would you like to learn how to perform
like my friends?
Would you be prepared to undergo a medical examination to check
that you are fit and free of any infectious disease?
I have not seen any no answers yet so I am fairly sure that you
all could admit to each other that you all would like to learn
how to share comfort like Spacer College cadets do. As you are
non-Spacers, you will have to have treatment to stop your fertility
while you are learning. I know that this is a simple and reversible
treatment that has no side effects.
If you wish, I can check if you are fit and are free of diseases.
If any of you do not want to be checked by me, please raise one
hand."
No hands were raised.
"The next stage may be embarrassing to you but I can assure you that it will not cause you any discomfort. We can make use of a tunnel that we have created for shelter. I will back into it so that I seal one end. Please come to my front end and expose as much of your bodies as you can to my brown patch."
It was very dark and rather cool but one by one the tunnel
crew did as Undepoldus had suggested. Each one felt as if he or
she had become a part of Undepoldus for a moment. It was such
a warm and comforting feeling that they all wanted to do it again.
Undepoldus backed out of the tunnel altogether and turned to cover
the opening with one side of his body. He then said. "Now
I can tell you that you are all free of any diseases. I cannot
modify your fertility so it would be inadvisable for you to share
comfort in the conventional way at the moment. I sense that you
all would like to share comfort as soon as possible anyway.
Although this tunnel is not the ideal place, I can instruct you
in your first lesson now. If you do not like that idea, please
raise one hand."
Again there was no objection.
"If you shine a light on the side of my body, I can illustrate
what you should do."
The instructions that Undepoldus gave the tunnelers are not included in this transmission. A separate transmission is available that includes these instructions. It may be obtained by requesting Sharing with Friends from your vidcom entertainment supplier. Viewers who wish this sequence to be included in chronological order in this program should say Friends and supply the appropriate identity code now.
Mr. Robinson called Undepoldus late on Thursday morning.
He said. "Congratulations on a job well done vastly ahead
of schedule. I do not know what has happened to the crew who were
with you but I cannot raise any of them on the vidcom this morning.
I just wanted a report on how it went but nobody left me a message.
The report I got was from the local council surveyor. He went
to see the work in progress and found that the job had been finished
overnight. He wondered what equipment was used to get the job
done so quickly. I said that we had extra help but I did not say
that you did most of the work."
Undepoldus said. "Your crew were very curious about Spacer
relationships. I discovered that they wanted instructions. I supplied
them with all the information that they were capable of using
early in the morning. Most of your other staff have asked me individually
the same questions as the tunnelling crew so they may want to
receive the same instructions. I know that you have a permanent
partner so you might not be in a position to join the tunnelling
crew in their new interest. They have begun to learn the Spacer's
way of eliminating possessiveness and jealousy although I did
not tell them it was one of the purposes of the lessons they received.
When they left the site they were very tired and happy."
Derek asked. "Do you think that all of my staff would like
the same lessons as the tunnelling crew?"
Undepoldus replied. "I cannot be sure that all your staff
would be interested but I know that most of them would like the
opportunity to have the option of lessons from me. The problem
is that it is a group activity. I know that most non-Spacers have
great difficulty in admitting their interest to their fellows.
I was able to overcome that difficulty in stages last night with
the tunnelling crew and I think that it would be possible with
most of the others who have contacted me."
Derek asked. "Would you be prepared to come here to give
the rest of my staff the same lessons as you gave the tunnelling
crew?"
Undepoldus said. "I will come to you when you want me to
be there but your staff will need somewhere where they will be
warm and comfortable while being close to me. It should also be
a place where they know that they will not be disturbed for around
three or four hours."
Derek asked. "Could you come here on Sunday when we are closed?"
Undepoldus said. "I can only travel conveniently at night
when I can be treated as a special heavy load on the freight moveway
system. I could come to you during Saturday night and return on
Sunday night if that will suit you."
Derek said. "That will be excellent. Do you like teaching
non-Spacers about Spacer relationships?"
Undepoldus said. "I have this strong drive to do anything
I can to make intelligent beings happy. I have found that the
way Spacers relate to each other is much better than most non-Spacers
achieve. If I can make people happy, that makes me happy too.
When people are very happy and near me, I feel the same happiness.
The effect is greater when there are a lot of people around me
sharing the same happiness. I trust that this answers your question."
Derek said. "I will make the arrangements for Sunday. I will
tell my staff that you are coming to meet them and answer their
questions. The tunnelling crew will know what it is all about
but the others will have to guess. I will suggest that they should
bring their partners with them and it will be a bit of a party."
Undepoldus said. "I think that it would be wise to make sure
that only your staff and their partners know that I will be coming
to visit you. It could be a serious problem if certain non-Spacers
discovered I was coming to see you. There would be those who would
want to know why I was with you and why I came. I think that it
would be better if you left my name out of the invitations. You
could formally announce it as a special meeting followed by lunch
and a private party. Then you could tell one of the tunnelling
crew in confidence what the purpose of the meeting will be."
Derek said. "I take your point. What will you do between
the time you arrive and when my staff arrives?"
Undepoldus said. "I will make a tunnel to hide in. If you
send me a map of your site, I will know where I should go."
Derek said. "Thank you very much Undepoldus. I look forward
to meeting you on Sunday."
George, Marita and Kerstin arrived in the afternoon to spend
an hour or two with Undepoldus.
Marita asked. "How did your tunnelling work go?"
Undepoldus said. "It went very well. All the tunnels were
completed very quickly so I had time to talk with the crew. I
soon found that all of them had seen the recording of you three
together so I led them into the first lesson that is now taught
in the Spacers College. They liked that so I taught them a modified
version of lesson two as well. I have been asked to visit the
company site on Sunday to meet the rest of the staff."
George laughed. He said. "Do you think that they would like
us as teachers too?"
Kerstin asked. "What are these lessons you are talking about?"
George said. "You missed that part of the course when you
spent a few weeks at the College. It was assumed that Marita and
I would teach you. You were an excellent pupil. Undepoldus, show
Kerstin what she missed."
Undepoldus started to show the first lesson and Kerstin laughed.
She said. "Now George, you must show me what I missed. It
looks like fun."
Marita said. "Count me in too. We never had a lesson like
that when I was at the College."
Undepoldus said. "I am sure that a live demonstration would
be much better than a recording but I don't know how the non-Spacers
would react to it."
Kerstin said. "If you, Undepoldus, can put them in the right
frame of mind I am sure that they will love it. Marita and I can
show the men how it should be done and George can show the women.
Undepoldus, did any of the women who contacted you ask about George's
size?
Undepoldus said. "They all did. I told them that George is
now 23 centimetres. He was only 22 centimetres in February. You
girls have made him bigger."
Marita said. "That proves that we have been treating you
well George. I think that Kerstin and I should keep up the good
work. I think that we should help you to grow to 25 centimetres."
Undpoldus said. "I think that you should stop talking and
concentrate on the lesson."
Kerstin said. "I think that we have had enough of lessons.
I would prefer to get on with some revision. Now George, what
were you teaching me last night? I would like you to go over it
again."
Marita laughed. She said. "I agree with you Kerstin. I find
George's lessons delightful to revise - as many times as possible."
On Friday 13th November, George came to see Undepoldus alone.
He greeted Undepoldus in his usual way but Undepoldus could detect
that he was worried.
Undepoldus asked. "What's worrying you George? What is it
that you are concerned about?
George said. "Ever since you started to give concerts on
your own, your need for my services has diminished. I cannot honestly
say that I look after you now and Marita is not lecturing anymore.
Kerstin is with us officially as a bodyguard but she has nothing
to do nowadays. We three have been free-wheeling for the past
few months and the day will soon come when we will have to resume
normal Spacer duties."
Undepoldus said. "I understand how you feel George but you
need not worry about resuming normal duty for several months yet.
Nobody could have foreseen the accident that nearly killed me
only 12 days ago. Your knowledge and the strengths of Marita and
Kerstin combined in a large way to help me to recover. We cannot
predict the future but we can try to prepare for unexpected circumstances.
I know that the Spacers League is considering your positions but
I also know that they do not want to upset me. They will do anything
they can to keep me happy here on Earth. If I say that I want
you with me, and I do, they will not refuse me.
I have not yet revealed to the Spacers League all that you know
about my capabilities. They do not know that I can present facial
images to those I am talking to and I doubt if they know that
I can make myself almost invisible when I want to. On Wednesday
night I discovered that I have another talent that fits in with
my programming. One of the tunnel construction crew was suffering
from a heart problem. I knew somehow that I could detect what
was wrong with people so I told the tunnelling crew that I could
check if they had any infectious diseases that would be harmful
if they tried to practice Spacer style companionship. I told them
to present naked areas of their bodies to my brown patch. I found
that I could analyse all their bodily functions in a few seconds.
When I discovered the woman with a faulty heart, I felt that I
must do something to cure it. Then, as I concentrated on doing
just that I detected that the fault was going away. She was and
is unaware that she had a problem and that I had cured her. Only
you know that now. I also found incidences of other problems that
I was able to correct. Some had simple problems like strained
muscles and one had arthritis. Another had a small stomach ulcer
and two women had fungal infections. I soon found that I did not
have to concentrate on fixing the problems. As one part of me
detected a problem another part organised the cure. The humans
felt as if they were a part of me and I felt the same while I
was in contact with them. After the contact they seemed to understand
me better and were more confident in themselves. I found the experience
very rewarding and satisfying. Now I want to have the chance of
making sure that all of Mr. Robinson's staff are free of problems.
I do not want anyone to know what I can do because I know that
there are too many people that need help. All Derek knows is that
I will teach those who want it, the basics of Spacer relationships.
It will give me the chance to reward those who helped to rescue
me in a way that they will never know."
George said. "It seems so logical now you have told me Undepoldus.
I would welcome the chance for you to give me a checkover and
I think it would be good for Marita and Kerstin too."
Undepoldus said. "Please do not let Marita and Kerstin know
what will happen when I check them over. I want to be able to
observe them afterwards to see if any problems I cure will be
permanently cured. Tonight would be a good time when the Park
is closed. I would like to know if my treatment has any effect
on the way that you can share comfort with each other."
George said. "I will suggest to them that we should spend
this evening here planning the lessons that we will give to Derek's
staff. You can tell them exactly the same as you said to the tunnelling
crew."
Undepoldus said. "I think that I will phrase it slightly
differently. I will say that this is what I did to check the fitness
of the tunnelling crew. I am sure that both of them will want
to experience it."
George said. "You are right Undepoldus. You must give them
the impression that you think that they are perfectly fit already."
When George told the girls that Undepoldus had suggested that
the lessons should be planned that evening, they were both very
pleased with the suggestion. Both seemed to want ever more time
sharing comfort and the evening's planning would offer an extra
occasion for the activity.
When the three entered Undepoldus House that evening, Undepoldus
had arranged himself so that the three of them could access his
brown patch easily. Kerstin and Marita removed their clothes and
formfits as soon as the door had closed. They were very impatient
to start the lesson planning.
Undepoldus said. "Marita and Kerstin, last Wednesday night
I discovered that I could check if all the members of the tunnelling
crew were fit to participate in Spacer relationships. I can do
this if a person presses his or her naked body against my brown
patch. Tonight I would like all three of you to feel what it is
like so that you can lead the rest of Derek's staff into following
your example. Then I examined them singly but tonight I would
like to find out what it is like with you three all at once. I
found it very pleasant to be in contact with one person so it
could be three times as good for me if I was in contact with the
three of you."
George removed his clothes and formfit and stood between Kerstin
and Marita. All three were unprepared for the effect of the contact.
The close affection that the four had for each other intensified
the experience. George could sense Marita and Kerstin through
Undepoldus. All four experienced exquisite pleasure from the contact
so they maintained it for several minutes. Then George, Marita
and Kerstin sensed that Undepoldus was withdrawing his part of
the link. He did so gradually leaving them feeling very happy
with life.
George realised that he felt fitter and younger after the experience
and very anxious to share with both Marita and Kerstin.
Afterwards George found that his capacity to please the girls
had been multiplied somehow. He felt that his body had been altered
to suit them. His efforts had made both Marita and Kerstin fall
asleep.
Undepoldus seemed pleased that he had helped George to become
more effective.
He said. "I hope that you don't mind George but I have inadvertently
changed you to match Kerstin's and Marita's fantasies. I can change
you back to a more normal state if you like but I think that you
will like what has been done to you. Tomorrow, when the girls
are not here, I will show you what I have done. When you are not
sharing comfort, nothing will appear to be different.
The girls will be asleep for another minute but will soon feel
bright and refreshed and totally satisfied. If you want to, you
will be able to share comfort with as many girls as you like while
you are awake. The prospect of sharing comfort with a willing
partner will make you feel as ready for sharing comfort for the
tenth time as much as for the first. If you want to know when
to stop, just think of what the girl you are sharing with is experiencing
and you will feel it too."
When the girls awoke they were so happy that tears ran down their
faces.
Marita said. "George, you were always good but you were marvellous
tonight. It seemed that you were providing me with every pleasure
I could imagine. Then, when I thought I could not stand any more
you insisted on giving me more. The more I tried to stop you,
the more you gave me. Then I fainted."
Kerstin said. "George, you were fantastic. You made me feel
the nicest things in all my fantasies at once. Usually I have
to stop because you cannot take any more. Promise that you will
always please me this way in future."
"Of course I will Kerstin. You girls have somehow made me
more able to provide what you want from me. I have just had the
best sessions of my life with both of you. I think that we make
an ideal threesome. I would not have believed it possible that
we could share so much happiness together. I love you both so
very very much."
After they had showered, they laid down together for a while,
just hugging each other, happy in the simple pleasure of bodily
contact.
When he thought it appropriate, Undepoldus said. "When
you have finished hugging each other we will have to plan what
we will do on Sunday."
Marita said. "I know that we will not have to get carried
away with our own interests as we did tonight. We will have to
be restrained and disciplined in the way we show Derek's staff
what we do and how we do it."
George said. "Undepoldus has shown us what he showed to the
tunnelling crew. You two will have to take it in turns with me
as we demonstrate the various actions. I am sure that those who
will be watching us will find it very stimulating. We will be
able to treat it as calmly if it were a lecture in driving a floater
but they will not see it that way. We can show them what it is
like to be examined by Undepoldus and I guess that the tunnelling
crew will want to repeat what they have already experienced. Then
the others will have more confidence. I cannot foresee any problems
with that arrangement."
Kerstin said. "I think that they will want to be examined
by Undepoldus in relative privacy. If what Undepoldus has said
applies to the non-tunnellers, they will not worry about privacy
after being examined."
Undepoldus said. "I think you are right Kerstin. I think
that it would be a good idea if I could have a private word with
each of them to start with. They all contacted me privately in
the first place."
Marita said. "You will get there before us Undepoldus. I
presume that you will make appropriate arrangements before we
arrive."
Undepoldus said. "You can leave that with me Marita. I know
what is required and I am sure that Derek will do all that I ask
him to do. Now we know roughly what we will do on Sunday, I suggest
the you three go back to the Spacers Club and get some rest. I
will see you all again on Sunday."
George was wondering what he would learn on Saturday.
He visited Undepoldus shortly before Undepoldus started his journey
on the freight moveway. George was shocked by what Undepoldus
showed him. It was a composite of Marita's and Kerstin's fantasies.
He said to Undepoldus. "You have changed me into a sort of
monster. I cannot say that I like the idea but I know that I really
enjoy the effects. I do not know whether I will want to stay as
you have changed me or to be changed back to the way I was. I
will have to make a decision when I have become used to the way
I am now."
On Sunday the visit went very much as planned. Every member of
Derek's staff was able to receive the benefit that Undepoldus
could offer. Undepoldus had blocked a rear double door with his
brown patch so that people from inside the building could approach
him without being affected by the cold weather outside. A curtain
had been hung across the space next to the doorway to form a small
private cubicle where each person could be checked by Undepoldus.
George, Marita and Kerstin did not have to lead the way. Derek
went in clothed and came out nude, carrying his clothes. The clothed
people entered on one side of the cubicle and the nude people
left through a door opposite. It was thought that some would not
like the idea of being converted to nudism before seeing Undepoldus.
In some cases the people concerned were aware of the change that
Undepoldus had made in their health. He told them that the improvement
was dependent on keeping his healing power a secret. If friends
or relatives were aware that a problem had disappeared, it could
be claimed as a spontaneous miracle cure.
It took nearly two hours for all Derek's staff to see Undepoldus.
As they assembled in the canteen, they formed groups of friends
and associates in the same way as they would at an ordinary reception.
After their visits to Undepoldus, they regarded nudity as a normal
way to be. Undepoldus remained outside but presented a face and
images on a large vidcom screen set up on the stage.
He said. "I know that nearly all of you have expressed an
interest in Spacer relationships to me privately. Now I think
that you are prepared to begin to learn how Spacers learn how
to share comfort with each other. Spacers regard sharing comfort
as a way of expressing friendship and affection for each other.
Spacers are infertile and are totally free of infectious diseases.
This makes it possible for them to disregard the concept of possession.
Every human is designed by nature to give pleasure to any other
human of the opposite sex. Spacers have recognised this fact and
have made use of it as a way of enhancing mutual trust and camaraderie
in a small society where there is an imbalance of the sexes. Spacers
have also discovered that although sharing comfort is a natural
function, it can be enhanced by intensive training. The training
course that Spacers undergo in sharing comfort has been developed
over years of practical experience. It has three aims. The first
is to increase the intensity of the pleasure obtained: the second
is to prolong the period of pleasure: the third is to give confidence
to all Spacers. They will know that every Spacer is competent
in sharing comfort.
Humans who have been trained in any physical activity obtain much
more pleasure from the activity than those who have not been trained.
Trained runners love to run more, trained singers love to sing
a lot, and trained craftsmen enjoy producing objects of beauty.
In the same way Spacers enjoy sharing comfort as often as is practically
possible. You have all had training in special skills for your
employment here. You all know that even after you were trained,
you became more competent as you spent more time working in your
trained occupations. Sharing comfort is a comparable skill. You
will need to be shown how to do it properly in the first place
and then you will need a lot of practice.
Every human is conscious that he or she is an isolated individual
who needs the company of others. When two humans share comfort
with each other, the feeling of isolation is very much reduced
in both of them.
Spacers know that the way to reduce this feeling of isolation
permanently is to learn that all humans feel this way. Spacers
have found the best way to do this. Each Spacer must share comfort
with as many others as possible in a relatively short period.
The pleasure obtained by sharing comfort with many partners is
the first product. The mental effect is much deeper. It lasts
much longer than the physical action. It brings about a state
of happiness and serenity that is very comforting to those who
participate. This is why Spacers refer to the activity as sharing
comfort. For Spacers the term sharing comfort is not a euphemism
for sexual intercourse. It means having sexual intercourse for
the purpose of sharing pleasure, happiness, companionship,
mutual affection and trust, and most of all comfort and serenity.
Humans generally appreciate the concept of sharing things for
mutual benefit. That is why Spacers extend this to sharing
comfort. It is an activity that costs nothing but a small amount
of physical effort. You will also find that sharing comfort
with a lot of partners regularly will enhance your lives in a
way that you cannot imagine at the moment.
Shortly you will see what few non-Spacers ever see. You will be
shown how you should execute the first stages of sharing comfort
by experts. For them, it is comparable to showing someone how
to drive a floater. They want you to observe closely what they
do so that you can copy their example exactly. What they will
do when they are showing you is the real thing. It will not be
a simulation. They will be affected by what they do as you will
be when you copy their example.
My friends George, Kerstin and Marita will demonstrate what you
should do in pairs. It is crucial that you do only the things
you are shown. Today you will metaphorically learn to crawl. Later
you will learn the equivalents of walking and running. Do not
try to walk before you can crawl and do not try to run before
you can walk. I will display views that are parts of the first
lessons that Spacer Cadets have to study. George, Marita and Kerstin
will take the parts of cadets. When you have seen the basic actions
shown to you, you should copy those actions as accurately as you
can. When you have started you will find it more comfortable to
lie horizontally on the soft furnishings provided. This will be
your first lesson. Later, you will progress to lesson two."
The demonstration given by George and Kerstin was a live example
of the same actions shown on the large vidcom screen.
After the people had been practising with each other for a
quarter of an hour, Undepoldus said. "Possessiveness and
jealousy are the chief enemies of harmonious human relationships.
All of you will gain by following the example set by Spacers.
You will find that sharing comfort with all your associates will
build a greater degree of companionship than you ever thought
possible. You will wonder why you ever thought that one man, one
woman exclusive relationships were a good idea. I know that a
lot of you are thinking that way already.
Soon you will find that the person that you like to spend time
with most may not be the person who you can share comfort with
best. Non-Spacer relationships often begin with a match of personalities
and end with an incompatibility in sharing comfort. Almost equally
often a clash of personalities develops between two people who
like to share comfort together. When you accept that these factors
cause a lot of misery in human relationships, you will see the
logic of keeping the two aspects separate. Nevertheless, you will
find as you practice sharing comfort a lot, these conflicts will
fade.
It is a good idea to keep a central record of all comfort sharing
activities so that you can check who you have shared comfort with
and how, and who you have not shared with yet. It is not a rule
but it is a good policy to share with someone new before you share
with the same person more than twice. You will also feel the
urge to improve the way you share comfort with each new partner
you share with. Even when you are infertile you should practice
manual and oral methods of sharing comfort regularly. You should
learn these skills as a musician learns to play a musical instrument.
When you have acquired enough skill you can the put more feeling
into the way you share comfort."
Then Undepoldus asked. "Are you all happy with what I have
said so far?"
There was a general murmur of approval.
Undepoldus said. "It seems that at least most of you are
content with what I have said. If anyone has a problem, please
raise one hand."
No hands were raised.
Undepoldus continued: "Many of the points I have been making
now are repeated in the recordings of the Spacers' course on sharing
comfort. Spacers have developed their course over many years.
They know what works and what the final result will be. Later,
when you have shared comfort with all of your colleagues of the
opposite sex many times, you will want to progress to the more
advanced parts of the Spacers' course.
Now I must come to the point that does not concern Spacers. Every
Spacer knows that she must remain infertile while she is on active
service. I use the female form because female Spacers outnumber
male Spacers two to one. Some Spacers nevertheless wish to become
mothers. The Spacers League insists that all children should have
two parents to look after them. As a result, a Spacer who wishes
to become a mother must have a partner who will voluntarily become
permanently Earthbound to help to look after his children.
Most Spacers prefer to remain active as long as possible because
of the companionship that the Spacers League provides. I am sure
that you will want that sort of companionship too. Because you
will enjoy the companionship, you must remain infertile while
you all become acclimatised to your new relationships. Later,
couples among you may want to have fertility restored for a while
in order to have children. If you do so, you should leave the
association until you are infertile again. I can assure you that
you will want to limit the time you are fertile to the shortest
period possible. You will long to share comfort with your other
friends soon after you become fertile."
After Undepoldus had stopped speaking, Derek addressed his staff.
He said.
"I do not think that any of you would have thought that what
we have achieved today would ever be remotely possible. We have
had a completely new way of living demonstrated to us. It takes
nearly all the worry out of personal relationships. The Spacers
League has given me an example that I wish to follow. The Spacers
League has admirals in charge and I am in charge here. The admirals
share comfort without regard to rank, and my partner and I intend
to do the same. As you see, although I am a bit older than most
of you, I am just as human as you are. I think that Undepoldus
has made a lot of important points. One of these is to keep a
record of all comfort sharing events. Some of you already deal
with routine administration work so I propose that you should
also keep a record of when and how who shared with who. This record
should be kept confidential among us. Our new arrangements could
cause the company a lot of adverse publicity through people who
do not understand us. I am sure that the members of staff who
formed the tunnelling crew with Undepoldus will verify that what
we have experienced today is only the beginning of a better way
of relating to each other. They have had three days to practice
what they learned early on Thursday morning. I have spoken with
them all individually to ask how they felt about what Undepoldus
told them. They all asked me to arrange that everyone here should
learn what they have learned. Some had partners who were not with
them during the tunnelling work, and they wanted their partners
to understand why they had agreed to do what Undepoldus suggested.
Now, I trust that all partners feel that we can begin to make
possessiveness and jealousy out of date. The new recreation centre
will be finished soon but we need an arrangement that will serve
us on a temporary basis. I suggest that this room is split into
two parts divided by an imaginary line. If you are nude in one
part it will be assumed that you would like to share comfort with
somebody. If you are dressed in the other part, it will be assumed
you do not want to share with anyone at the moment.
Nearly all of you are here because you work for the company. The
hours of work are clearly stated in your contracts so I expect
you to work during those times. The morning and afternoon break
periods are a bit too short for you to have a shower, share comfort
and have another shower. I therefore propose to extend the break
periods by ten minutes each and delay the end of the working day
by twenty minutes. This change will enable most of you to share
comfort three times a day on these premises. I am sure that many
of you will want to come here when you have days off for various
reasons. To simplify administration, I propose that those who
come here to share comfort on their days off should wear an identifying
fabric collar. I think that all of you have heard enough of speeches
now and a lot of you would like to have some more practice. Please
remember to stick to the methods you have been shown until you
are sure that you are infertile. By the way, I declare this end
of the room to be the comfort end. Thank you for listening."
Almost immediately everyone moved towards the end of the room that Derek had declared to be the comfort end. There was a lot of laughter as they sorted themselves into convenient couples. George Marita and Kerstin were happy to join in the general pleasure sharing.
George learned later that Undepoldus had told Derek that his partner Samantha was now free of diabetes and the possible threat to her sight was no longer present.
