About JTAC Development

JTAC Development is the new name for James Townsend & Andy Clay Development.  We are two successful Software Development Engineers, with over 16 years experience together, who have been working colleagues for a long time and are now setting up our own service, based in Lincolnshire, UK.

JTAC Development specialises in Windows-based Applications, and we have considerable experience in VC++.Net, VC++ 6.0, C, MFC, MS Access, ASP, Javascript, HTML,  Web-Based Security systems, as well as Full Stock Control Systems (both wireless and stand-alone), Labelling and Barcode Scanning, Hand Held Data Collection, Serial Comms Data Transfer, Data Conversion, PC Hardware and Windows software systems and more.

We have extensive experience of writing formal proposals, quotations and development plans, as well as customer support, both by telephone and email.

Our expertise is as follows:

James Townsend:

6+ years of windows development, using Microsoft Visual C++, C++, C, Java (swing), ASP, HTML, Javascript, VBScript, SQL Server, Carbon API (c++), along with some development on Linux, and Mac OSX

Experience developing the following software:

• Simulation software for Swingfire, a fly-by-wire, ground to air missile system.
• Software for simulating Toshiba / Panasonic / NEC telephone exchanges, both for end user training software, and direct simulation software
• Porting software from Microsoft Visual C++ to both Carbon C++ (MacOSX) and Java, for use on MacOSX and Linux.
• Development work on a major windows labelling software package, barcode scanning systems, thermal printer drivers, and web based security systems including site design, and server side database programming.
• Development of a windows document management system for use in GP's currently being used in practices all around the country.

Extensive knowledge of PC systems, both hardware and software.

Extensive experience in the creation of customer proposals and quotations, along with customer support over the phone, via email, and via site visits.

Andy Clay:

10+ years of programming using Borland C/Dos/C/MFC/VC++ as well as 6 years experience in Barcode Scanning systems, Hand Held Data Collection Systems, Serial Data Communications, Data Conversion (ASCII to Excel, Access, SQL, etc), Stock Control Systems, Labelling software, including integration with Sage Line 50/100 and SAP, Integration with Web-based systems as well as bespoke software for many QA systems.

Extensive knowledge of PC hardware and Windows-based software as well as Thermal Labelling Printers

Extensive experience in writing formal proposals, quotations and development plans for bespoke systems, as well as regular communications with customer on the current status of their system.

Excellent after-sales telephone/email communications with existing/new customers.
