West Highland White Terrier

The West Highland White, belongs to a group of dogs called terriers. Although there are many types of terriers, the one you are no doubt interested in is the highland terrier.

Photos above show the 4 main terriers from Scotland, the Scottish terrier is usually called a Scotty, while the West Highland White terrier is called a Westie. Many people are confused with these two breeds and will sometimes ask if there is a back Westie, or a White Scotty.. No There is Not ! :)

West Highland White Terriers are white, no other colour, there is only one breed of Westie, they do not come in miniature sizes, if you see a tiny dog looking like a Westie, its a cross breed not a pedigree dog at all.

So.. now you know :)- and can tell everyone, there is only one West Highland White Terrier.
