deco-blue designs is a specialist design business which was founded in 2003 by Wendy Young. It grew from a love of denim combined with a background in Fashion, Textiles and Interior Design (Hons. B.A. Textile Design - Leeds University & Diploma in Fashion Merchandising - Ryerson Polytechnic, Toronto, Canada).

Design inspiration comes from a wide variety of sources but centres around the natural qualities of denim – strength, softness, faded tones and frayed textures as well as its enduring and universal appeal. Recycled jeans, jackets and shirts, sourced from charity organisations, are used in designs for aesthetic as well as environmental reasons.

Why choose deco-blue designs?
As a specialist craft business, we are passionate about designing truly unique furnishings and gift items - no two of our products will be the same as we use reclaimed textiles sourced from a range of charity organisations. The reason for this is twofold - first, by using recycled denim we cut down on environmental problems (eg. pollution from new fabric manufacturing processes and disposal of secondhand clothing into landfill sites). Secondly, denim is unique in the fact that it is one of the only fabrics which improves with age. It is also a fabric which is loved by all ages.

The deco-blue collection includes; custom made quilts, personalised baby and pet quilts, a selection of cushions (including Patchwork, Heart, Star and Waistband designs), contemporary framed artwork, handy Hanging Pockets, funky handcrafted denim bags in a variety of styles and smaller gifts including lavender sachets,wine gift bags and beautiful handcrafted brooches.
