ECUMENICAL ACTIVITIES

The parish plays an active part in ecumenical affairs and actions. St Paul's enjoys a good relationship with All Saints', the other major Anglican church in the town. The parish takes a leading role in Churches Together in Wokingham (CTW). CTW exists to demonstrate the unity shared as Christians, improve communication between the various congregations in Wokingham, and facilitate co-operation on projects that can best be done together. Membership includes the majority of town centre churches. Regular events include Lent meetings, Good Friday public witness and Advent carol services. Christmas cards advertising church services are distributed to a large part of the town. CTW supports the local healing ministry and has recently provided a chaplaincy for the local Further Education College (now closed). Fair Trade and Trades Justice are a current area of activity, with active support from our MP, John Redwood. In addition local ministers hold regular meetings for prayer and discussion. CTW also provide copy for the Wokingham Times Christian Comment column each week.

St Paul's and the local Methodist Minister have publicly signed up to the Anglican/Methodist Covenant. We have yet to take practical steps to act on this.
