Guidelines for Walkers
We are a small group who like to enjoy Derbyshire outdoors and our walking is mainly in the Trent Valley or White Peak areas, usually covering 5-6 miles at a leisurely place.
Walks normally finish with a refreshment stop, possibly a pub lunch, which is a relaxed sociable event for those who wish to participate. There is also a stop approximately midway through the walk for a brief snack. The Sunday walks are often slightly longer and there is usually an additional packed lunch stop as a possible alternative to a pub lunch at the finish.

| 1. Contact the leader of the day for details of forthcoming walks (telephone numbers will be supplied for members). |

2. Walking boots or stout shoes are essential in the Winter season. Be prepared for a sudden change in the weather, as happened in Quorn in 2007! (This photo shows John W attempting the flooded path.) 3. A walk may be cancelled due to weather conditions etc, so if in doubt ring the leader of the day. |
4. Walkers without transport can normally expect a lift from either car park but this cannot be guaranteed. |
|
| 5. Walkers accepting a lift should reimburse the driver - please bear in mind that petrol is expensive. |
|
6. During the walks, try to keep behind the walk leader. |
|
| 7. Please help to protect the countryside by leaving it as you find it, and particularly by closing gates and taking litter home. | |
