My GPX600R

This was my introduction to motorcycling. It was a great bike, fun, quick, light, reasonably comfortable and quite practical. Mine was a US import. I wish I still had it for commuting on, but it had to go when I bought my ZX7R.

Modifications Made:
Aftermarket bodywork (Fitted by the previous owner)
Aftermarket Rear Shock (longer than stock and with much better damping)
Michelin Macadam 90 (Non standard sizes - 120/80 Front - 150/80 Rear)
Goodridge steel braided brake hoses
Stripped calipers, new seals
EBC HH brake pads
Fresh fork oil

Look out for:
Problems with the AntiDive: This is electrically operated from your brake light switch so check that the switch and contacts are working fine. On my GPX the contacts were misbehaving, but they are very easily sorted.
Inaccurate steering: Tired suspension and worn tyres have a very big effect on the GPX's handling. Oversize Radial tyres (120/80 - 150/80) calm the steering making it more predictable whilst a longer aftermarket shock will keep the steering sharp.
Carb Icing: Not a big problem really. In two and a half years of riding in all weather through rain, sleet, freezing fog, etc. it only happened to me once. Depending on weather conditions it can take up to 45 minutes of sitting at the roadside before it clears up

That's me on my GPX 8 months after purchase

And this is a standard GPX600R
