After
the plastic handrails have been fitted, our fitters clean all mitres,
stop ends and joints with a solvent (Tetrahydrofuran) to put a high
gloss finish onto the rail.
After completion, the plastic handrails should not need any maintenance.
If minor damage is caused, colour profiles may be treated with a lint-free
cloth soaked in solvent-based cleaner. The cloth should be wiped over
the damage, following the direction of the handrail.
We must remedy major damage to the plastic handrails with either a
new section welded into the running length, or a replacement handrail
must be fitted.
On no account must a furniture polish be used on the plastic as this
will seal whatever is on the rail under the polish. Constant use of
the handrails is all that is needed to keep them clean but a damp
cloth may also be used to wipe away any dust. |
