In the UK a nurse is still called a nurse, male or female, as that is what they do. Very well in most cases and for sod all money.

OK, the nurse is up. Of course, if you illustrate a nurse it has to be either male or female, unless androgynous, but here we have an unnecessarily pouting and curvaceous representation, a nurse whose hard-won skills are belittled by the skimpy uniform she is obliged to wear. And was it just me, but if you look carefully at the enlarged view, does her uniform seem somehow transparent?

I've also included nurse-b, for those of us who would choose Angela Griffin to be administering the enema.

Just in case you think a nurse's lot is an easy one, I overheard this conversation yesterday from the next table at my local.

A nurse is retelling how the other night a neighbour had come round to tell that the old guy next door had had a fall "…so I'm ringing the ambulance and they want to know is he in the recovery position? And I say I don't know, he's next door isn't he. 84 years old..." "And he's dead?" "...yeah, but I have to give him mouth to mouth, 8 minutes, it's a long time for CPR, and his dong's hanging out of his jeans the whole time, then the ambulance arrives and they come in really slowly and just look..."
