Might I refer you to the rules for posting? 'Jaybird' doesn't seem to conform to any of the requirements.

'Scuse me, Headmaster. It wasn't obscene nor overtly racist. A jaybird is also an an animal...animals are frequently used as examples for the letters of the alphabet, and I seem to recall seeing "B" is for Bluejay on alphabet charts in my wife's classroom. If you objected to one of my posts, I would have guessed it would have been for "Intern". However, if you feel it doesn't fit, please feel free to delete the thread. No hard feelings.

Must be a language problem - I'm not aware of any other meanings for 'Jaybird' apart from the american bird, though it does occur in the inexplicable phrase 'naked as a jaybird'. My objection was that it wasn't to my knowledge a word that, though once acceptable and likely to be on an alphabet chart, has now fallen into disrepute.

It can also refer to a talkative person, which I think is what the Duke is doing in the sound byte.

From the American Heritage Dictionary:

Jay - Noun -
1. Any of various often crested birds of the genera Garrulus, Cyanocitta, Aphelocoma, and related genera within the family Corvidae, often having a loud, harsh call. Also called jaybird.
2. An overly talkative person; a chatterbox.

Upon a necklace adorning cleavage, or upon a crown adorning a monarch. Take your pick.

Jodhpurs

Because unless Mummy and Daddy bought you a Shetland Pony for your fifth birthday, you'll probably have no idea what jodhpurs are. It's a subtle way of letting the oiks from the sink estates know their proper place (with a shovel at the rear end if they're lucky).

The School Bully

Who is the Juggernaut?

DrWombatMD

He's one of the guys in X-Men 3.

And there was I thinking you were meaning the juggernauts of ancient India - huge ornate carriages pulled in religious procession. Devotees would fling themselves to be crushed beneath the wheels*, thus offering themselves as sacrifices to the gods.

In England large articulated lorries are often referred to as juggernauts. Every year many cyclists and pedestrians selflessly cast themselves under the tyres of these beasts as they thunder through our towns and villages, thus ensuring a bountiful harvest for Tescos.

*According to lying Christian missionaries.

DrWombatMD

well that would work, too, i suppose.

Jungle

Now it's a "rain forest."

It's still a jungle sometimes. It makes me wonder how I keep from going under.
