Not sure about this one, but it has to be politically incorrect as a result of having 'man' in the word. Also I would imagine frogman was a word more used in the 50s than it is now, when we just say 'diver'.

You're spot on, 'Frogman' was standard English for a scuba diver until someone spotted the gender specificity - so whereas 'police frogmen' used to scour canals for missing wives it's now police divers (searching for missing significant others). And the Action Man Frogman was one of the classic toys of bath and playground.
Our frogman comes complete with trident for a spot of reef fishing.
