The Headmaster An intermediary between heaven and earth in Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Zoroastrianism but means nothing to, say, a Hindu or a Sikh. And the wings and halo are a Christian thing. At age 5 I was an angel at my school Christmas play, with prominent stitches in my forehead from where I'd run into a pew. My next starring role was as Herod - typecast. Illustration completed (without a halo, it looked fussy). |
