Jonesy What about Camp? The only modern prefixes for Camp are Concentration ~ , Internment ~ , Refugee ~ , and so on. The illustration would show some tinted and smiling but decidenly hungry-looking young men. The only disadvantage to this word is it's already nearly as embaressing as its verb form. |----- In a separate thread… The Nephew There's godda be Camp surely??? The Headmaster If you look elsewhere on this board, Camp was suggested back in October. I've not yet illustrated though - although a row of tents shouldn't be too tricky, I'm still not convinced that such an image/subject would invite censure today, which is important. Not like 'Beaver' for instance (which will follow in due course). |----- The Headmaster Eventually I get round to your suggestion. I've passed on your starving refugee idea and gone instead for the plain and simple row of tents, as in 'camp as a row of tents', a phrase I first heard from a friend describing one of his boyfriends. |
