About The Artist

I was born in Durban, South Africa in 1954. I've traveled fairly extensively throughout Southern Africa, absorbing the warm, earthy, colours, smells and textures of Namibia and South Africa and falling hopelessly in love with leopards and dusty African sunsets. Africa really gets in your blood! 

I now live and work in the West of Ireland, on the edge of Connemara, where the cooler climate suits me and where I'm busy absorbing new colours and feelings, more relative to the northern hemisphere.

 After being involved creatively in music, dancing, crafts and handmade papermaking for many years, I was finally able to turn my hand to painting about 4 years ago. I'm still experimenting and don't ever intend to stop - the variety and excitement that comes with experimentation is too addictive! Acrylic on canvas is my favourite, followed by oils. Watercolour remains a frustration and challenge to be conquered ......
