Roz Doyle is Peri's character on Frasier. She works as Frasier's radio show producer, handles call screening and chips in from time to time with her words of wisdom. She's a master of relationships (having had a lot of experience) and is often giving Frasier advice when it comes to his love life. She met Daphne via Frasier, and since the have become best friends, meeting regulaly outside of work at Cafe Nervosa. Niles, however, initially was not as fond of Roz (possibly down to her less than refined personality) and the two spent many years fighting and bickering, until recently when they managed to form a truce after discussing their dating failures.
[On having in-laws without being married.] Roz: That's like posing nude for your art class and still flunking the course. [Frasier is shocked.] Roz: Shut up! I needed the credit! As producer of Dr. Frasier Crane's radio show, Roz has grown to love haughty Frasier and helps keep him grounded. After a somewhat promiscuous past, Roz decided to settle down when she became pregnant. While she didn't marry the baby's young father, Roz is a devoted single mother. She's never considered Frasier romantic material, but as the years pass…you never know. There have been several occasions where something has almost happened, but so far nothing more than just a kiss. One time, Niles and Roz pretended to be going out to spend a week at the log cabin with Daphne and Donnie to hopefully break the two up and keep the pieces for themselves. Daphne: Roz, is everything all right? Roz: Yeah, I'm fine. It's just that my hair is huge and this dress is a joke. Frasier: No, nonsense, Roz. You look divine. Roz: No, I look like Divine. She has a reputation for having "a lot of experience" with men, which both Frasier and Niles like to take advantage of in their jokes. Roz can also be quite greedy at times, such as at the SeaBee awards when she was determined to win an award, and in the way she chose Bebe as her agent after Bebe had lost her the radio host job. [Frasier, describing a child to Roz] Frasier: ..fascinated by shiny things.. Roz: Hey, that's Bulldog, isn't it? In the finale of season 10, Roz was seen getting jealous over Frasier's attraction to Julia, a new station employee whom is discourtious and foul-tempered to almost everyone she comes into contact with. Roz took a job at another station after Frasier and her had a row over Julia. Roz told him he had to choose between her or Julia... he chose Julia. What happens now... we'll jsut have to wait until season 11! [Roz comes to the Halloween Party dressed in a saucy S&M outfit.] Daphne: Wow! Roz, don't you look smashing! Eve: What an interesting costume, who are you? Roz: I'm O. from the "Story of O." Everyone: Ohhh... Roz: It's gonna be a long night. |
