Walks, Travels and Flyfishing II - The new website

This site is a journal of walks, travels, fly fishing and other activities in the UK and abroad. It's a personal view of places and people encountered along the way, so cannot be considered entirely objective, but should be informative and possibly entertaining. Kent rambles and trips get a lot of mention, simply because I live there, but Sussex, Scotland and other counties and countries also feature. Many of the walks and the routes taken are described in detail for you to follow.

I give a brief description of pubs and restaurants. A few country churches also get a mention, some dating back 1,000 years.Travel and gastronomy are passions born of curiosity. If you never walk over that hill and the one beyond it, or try eating something that kept a chicken from falling over, your journey will end where you are now.

As for the angling, most of it is fly-fishing for trout, with some pike and sea-angling. I have included a directory of trout fisheries in the South-East, and major trout reservoirs countrywide with prices, catch limits, close seasons and other details.

Be prepared for other activities too, cooking, theatre, cinema, maybe even sailing or trekking.
