Light for Children

In 2002, Helen married Costel at St John’s Community Church, Chase Terrace. Costel grew up in Dersca and having completed his national service in the Romanian army, was employed at the orphanage in the village, where he met Helen. The couple now rent an apartment in Dorohoi, a small town in which many of the young people whom we support now live. As well as being their home, the apartment also acts as a base for the charity and a safe place for the young people to meet to discuss any needs that they have or to celebrate any special occasions such as birthdays. Costel is now employed at a local Christian centre run by another English charity and also supports Helen in her work.
