Breeding


The males will start courtship as soon as they have warmed up from being in hibernation but I prefer to keep the males
and females seperate for the first two weeks to give them time to wake up properly and start eating and drinking.
Once I introduce the male to the female I leave them together for 2 weeks, at first he will walk around the female circling her
before the let biting and head butting starts. This is perfectly normal( but not fun for me to watch).
Once he manages to mount her he will start making loud squeaking and grunting noises.
