Kyosho and ParkZone now offer these tiny models well known full sized aircraft on the 2.4Gig frequency band.
There is now the popular Cessna 210 in three colours. This is a 3 channel R/C offering proportional control to rudder, elevator and throttle. But all this is available on a model in an AUW below 20gm !!!.
The slightly larger wingspan, and slower flying speed of the Citabria. Also Rudder and Elevator control.
Next is the more sporty low winged Flybaby. Also Rudder and Elevator control.
The forth variant is slightly different. It is a scale model of the Cherokee, and it uses Rudder, Elevator and Aileron for control. It also utilises a new Tx that is not compatible with the rest of the fleet. Cannot be used with the three channel receiver.
The fifth model, was the mid winged Edge 540. Aileron and Elevator.. no rudder control, so it also uses the original Tx as it is back to a three channel model.
The next variant was the four channel Piper Cub - It has a flat bottomed wing for energetic flight. - This model has ailerons as well as rudder, elevator and motor on the fourth channel. Cannot be used with the three channel receiver.
The next variant was the four channel Christen Eagle II - This model is three channel, rudder, elevator and with a larger motor on the fourth channel.
ParkZone make the ultimate slow fly indoor model. The Vapor can fly slower than walking speed, but with a 138mah LiPo can climb to the ceiling of the sports hall vertically.
ParkZone now make an aerobatic indoor model. They have produced the brilliant Sukoi SU-26. It utilises the Spektrum radio technology, so you can bind your existing Tx's in that category to his model.
ParkZone have now created a four channel Mustang. This utilises the Spektrum ultralite receiver, and two additional servos. This setup makes an ideal doner model to rob the inners for your own creation.
There are considerable variety of tiny planes available – the Silverlit Products for example – but these Kyosho Minium and ParkZone planes are not in the same league. It would be wrong to dismiss this as “just a toy” as it is shows what is to come to the world of the aero modelling. The model as supplied is great fun to fly indoors and low wind outdoors.
For serious modellers there is another side to this model. The components used are really tiny and include servos as opposed to magnetic actuators normally used in sub 20gm models. It would be a great model to cannibalise for the components for your micro projects. As this model is light, it is more suitable for modellers. It is not as robust as small planes in the toy market and definitely not suitable for very young kids. It needs the odd bit of maintenance and a reasonable level of skill is required to look after this little plane.
Its revolutionary slow flight capability changes the world of
scale indoor aircraft.
The ability to amble along at just 10km/h is backed up by the CESSNA 210’s powerful flight potential. At the incredible weight of just 18g and wingspan of 380mm, you’ve never seen or flown a scale plane quite like this before. Innovation born of Kyosho’s long years of aircraft design and development has created a completely new style of flying. Inside the fully assembled fuselage is the integrated one-piece unit comprising the speed amp + receiver + two linear stroke servos, with all linkages set up and ready for action. The 3-channel system governs the elevator, rudder and motor for completely free flight control. Amazing slow flight performance and the tight turning radius brings R/C flight indoors like never before.
A Lithium Polymer battery safely delivers awesome thrust through the 6mm diameter coreless motor, gear reduction unit and special propeller. Increase speed and you can even fly stunts like loops, and in light breeze you can take the flight action outdoors. Also, limit the turning radius and you can fly indoor as well. The advanced control system uses in a world standard ISM band for the 2.4GHz high frequency. Switch the transmitter on and it automatically scans from the 79-wave spectrum, and moves with the receiver to an open frequency to maintain constant control stability during flight. This revolutionary new airplane brings the joy of scale model flight to your fingertips - indoors!

The Citabria
Weighing in at just 22g and with a wing span of only 420mm, the MINIUM CITABRIA
is designed for very slow flight speed so it can cruise through the air at
walking pace!
The CITABRIA joins the CESSNA as part of the groundbreaking MINIUM micro-scale
airplane series, but with slightly larger wing area and increased lift for even
slower flight capability complimented by a propeller specially adapted to the
CITABRIA’s specifications. This enables a turning circle about 50cm smaller
than the CESSNA.
The fully-assembled fuselage features an innovative one-piece R/C unit
comprising micro speed control amp, receiver and two linear stroke servos,
complete with pre-set linkages. The 3-channel control system delivers excellent
response through control of the elevator, rudder and motor. The safety and power
of a Lithium Polymer battery provides the energy to a 6mm coreless motor and a
gear reduction unit that produces plenty of torque and power for speed to fly
loops etc. when required.
Using the world standard ISM band with a 2.4GHz control system that
automatically scans for open frequencies on the spectrum, control is safe from
interference. Switch the transmitter on and it automatically scans a 79 wave
spectrum and locks on to an open frequency with the receiver. This allows up to
26 MINIUM airplanes to be flown at the same time! Enjoy the MINIUM’s majestic
slow flight and flexibility of flying indoors or outdoors!

Enjoy the sporty low-wing flight of the revolutionary MINIUM airplane. Fly a scale model of the famous home-build airplane with advanced 2.4GHz control system. The slow speed flight characteristics unique to the MINIUM series can now be enjoyed with this scale model of the famous home-build airplane. Capture the low-wing style of the FLYBABY on the palm of your hand with the sophisticated design and components of the MINIUM. Home-build airplanes popular in the US are designed with the objective of delivering calm control characteristics. The attractive low-wing form features a proper dihedral to deliver this stability. The MINIUM also replicates this design but also delivers the maneuverability of a low-wing airplane. The Li-Po battery supplies stable power to a 6mm diameter coreless motor that drives a gear reduction unit and special propeller to generate sufficient thrust for the airplane to fly outdoors (under no-wind conditions) as well as indoors. The MINIUM retains its ability to fly in confined spaces as one of its greatest attributes. Another advantage of its lightweight is that damage is minimal in the event of hard contact. KYOSHO has again successfully integrated the latest technology into an innovative model for a flying experience that could only be dreamed of a short while ago. This fully pre-assembled model is loaded with ultra-small amp, receiver and two linear stroke servos and complete with linkage setup. The 3-channel system provides elevator, rudder and motor control for the full scope of flying experiences. Build up speed and fly loops! Control is managed on the worldwide standard ISM band on 2.4GHz frequency with a system that automatically scans for clear frequencies to use. Simply switch power ON and a 75 wave spectrum is automatically scanned for a band free of radio interference so the transmitter and receiver can communicate on an ultra stable signal. Revolutionary features and components bring the dream of slow scale flight to reality! |

This
micro-sized scale airplane provides both great stability and nimble
aerobatic performance. The amazing MINIUM airplane series that changed
the world of micro-sized R/C flight forever, now introduces the sharp
maneuverability and small turning circle of a biplane. The cambered wing
and lightweight finish produce optimal lift that allows the biplane to
fly long and slow without stalling while its optimal wind resistance
allows the plane to adapt for a wide speed range. The 30g weight of the
airplane is driven by a large diameter propeller and a powerful 8mm
motor (previous versions used 6mm) to generate about 30g of thrust which
produces an excellent thrust to weight ratio for plenty of power and
stable flight performance. This fully pre-assembled model is loaded with
an ultra-small control unit with built-in amp, receiver and two servos
and has all the linkages pre-set, so simply set the batteries and get
ready for takeoff. Control is managed with an R/C system that uses the
worldwide standard 2.4GHz frequency. Simply switch the power ON and the
R/C system automatically scans a 79 wave spectrum for an open frequency.
This provides a safe control system without the need to carry spare
frequency bands. The unique and exciting flight performance of this
scale biplane is captured on the palm of your hand with the Kyosho
CHRISTEN EAGLE II. |
