The Toe-Tappers are an entertainment duo based in Nottingham England UK. Originally called the Boot Hill Toe Tappers, they began performing in pubs, clubs and at parties about two years ago. The Boot Hill prefix was dropped last year because although the diverse assortment of material played includes some country and western music, (Rawhide, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Jesse James etc.) the majority of songs are of widely varying genres. Folk music, Jazz, Blues, Cajun, Rock and Roll, Skiffle, film and original songs are all included within the programme of an evening’s entertainment.
Nottingham’s only six-piece duo!
Steve B and Steve D are a couple of likeable lads living in the Nottingham area. Both have previously played in various bands and entertainment acts locally and abroad.
Their musical versatility is immediately evident, not only from the range of material, but also the instrumental arrangements.
While Steve D plays fiddle (in a variety of styles, from folk, to jazz to rock and classical) he also plays the broom! "The what?" yes - the broom. It’s like a tea-chest bass without the tea chest, and can also be used for sweeping up at the end of the night.
Steve B demonstrates his remarkable virtuosity, not to mention co-ordination, by playing the harmonica or singing, whist simultaneously playing the guitar and tap-dancing. (Quite some feat / feet).

General Information
When planning a booking:
There are a few items you should consider, which will be important for a successful event.
Is the event indoors / outside
Ensure you can provide accurate directions to the venue
A contact telephone number is useful in case of difficulties
Is the venue the right size for the number of people?
A large venue with few people will lack atmosphere.
A cramped venue will be uncomfortable for everyone.
What age group are your guests?
A band will generally play two 45-min sets. The Toe-Tappers are particularly flexible about this but check first if your requirements are different.
If you want music for the entire duration, consider having a disco and/or more than one band playing. The Toe-Tappers can give advice and assistance with these issues.
Be aware of your budget. There are often many hidden costs with larger events (hiring chairs, table cloths, photographs and reprints etc.).
The Toe-Tappers will negotiate prices depending on the type of event and what is required. The price quoted will be fully inclusive.
Ensure there is adequate access for both the band and guests
Ensure there are adequate exits in the event of fire or other emergencies
Be aware that the band may only be required for part of the event
It is important that the band is able to gain access to the stage/performance area with their instruments and other equipment. (Amplification equipment can be very heavy and so vehicle access close to the stage will probably be required)
Special notes for outdoor events:
It is important that an adequate power supply is available. This should include an RCD power breaker before any trailing leads.
Ensure there is adequate cover available in the event of rain.
Neighbour awareness: Amplified sound will carry a long way when outside or in a marquee.
Is there a stage, or reserved area for the band to play?
Is there vehicle access for loading / unloading equipment?
If you require further information, help or assistance with anything referred here, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Have a good one!
