Funeral
Funeral Arrangements - What to do when someone dies.
In normal circumstances you should contact the G.P., who will come
out to you and will normally issue a death certificate ( providing
there is no need for a post mortem).
This should be taken to the Registry of Deaths in the Town Centre
where the death must be registered. They will issue permission for
proceedings to continue, and you must take this green form to the
Funeral Directors, which gives them the go ahead to arrange the
Funeral. Their role is to coordinate the Church and Priest, the
Cemetery or Crematorium Chapel, to the requirements of the family.
Some time after this the priest will contact family to arrange to
meet with them in order to plan the Funeral Mass or Service. He
will talk to them regarding music, readings and special requirements.
Further information is available in the form of a short booklet
