The Liverpool City Skyline is world famous, and recently there have been major debates about how that skyline will change, there are 2 camps with some people stuck in the past and some looking to the future. As I continue with this project I cant help but get sucked into the debate. As I try to define myself as an ‘Artist’, the City tries to define itself as a Culture Capitol. I wonder how the transformations will effect the future of the city, along with my future. Does culture come from within or is it imposed on from above, with World Debt mounting can we afford the Party, ...... This time is like no other, the world is on the brink of destruction, resources are running out, the eco system is being destroyed and perhaps the balance of power will have to change. Just as countries have been compelled to return the land stolen in war, Perhaps Land owners in this country and other, should be forced to give up land, so that each and every person has a place to grow some food, the worlds natural resources should be owned by no one and shared with everyone, they should be non profit making companies. Capitalism Commercialism, perhaps it is not the way the world should be run, but we are stuck on that path, and only natural disaster can stop that. In Such an uncertain future Liverpool has a daunting task ahead, it seems we have to show the world they way of the future, , we have to be Dynamic, Innovative Artistic, Forward thinking & Culturally tolerant, and I hope we can pull it off, otherwise we may face more stigma in the future In true Liverpool Style this DVD has been made on a shoestring, and it has the unique ability to take your mind off the issues of the day. As I work on it I have the feeling I am doing something worthwhile. It seems there is plenty of funding, as long as you want to spend it on consultants. There seems to be hardly any funding for individuals, and some of the help on offer is in the form of a Loan. It seems clear to me that the main thing needed for this project is Publicity & Distribution. As I discuss the thoughts in my head it is possible that I will show my ignorance, and I may even offend, just remember that is all going on in your head, I don’t mean to offend, but hey that’s life, it happens. I don’t agree that religion should be a part of schooling. Law would be more useful after all ignorance is no defense. |
