Instructors: What is the Wu De? Don't know? You should!

Too many martial arts schools these days have forgotten what they are supposed to be teaching or do not care about their students to bother to find out. Some instructors do not even know how to do this, as their instructor never taught them. I am talking about teaching the 'Wu De'.

In an attempt to break down the Wu De' for the students to best communicate it, I decided to write my own version in my own words in the form of lessons. Each subject I felt were the main ones to teach I wrote out a lesson for it. 52 lessons later, I am about to condense them into a book for my students. These lessons typify exactly what is missing in the repertoire of young adults and children the world over. Adults can even learn from these lessons and often take part in them with their children! All the 'buzz' words children hear everyday, like honour, sacrifice, manners, dedication, ambition etc. are explained and they're shown why they should need to understand these words for what they are. I sit down with the kids before each class and for half and hour talk to them about the lesson. The kids love it as sometimes there are games, puzzles and prizes for tests. The main thing they love is the interaction between the other kids they may never have taken notice of before. The comradery that evolves is so complete you would swear they were all related after a few weeks!

The best people to ask would be the parents who tell me they have seen improvements in temperament and educational ability after their child has been involved in the classes over a few months.
