Welcome to the Hulbert Family Christmas Family Newsletter.

Welcome to a few of the highlights of 2003.

This has been a busy but happy year for the family.  In this photo you see us on holiday in Portugal.  It was probably the highlight of the year.  Besides visiting the family in Lisbon, we went kayaking on the Mondego river and rented a villa in the north where we spent a week exploring, along with Luisa's parents.

This was our lunch break on the Mondego river.  Such a beautiful place -- warm, clean water, fish, birds and wild-life. We're ready to do it again -- and -- for the first time in 22 years of marriage, we got Luisa in kayak!

In May we all went to Brecon family camp -- an annual event for us -- only this time we took 22 youth from Newbold with us a well.  Here are SteveO and Jena enjoying some music in the Sabbath afternoon sunshine.  Steven has done a lot of song writing this year and his music is much appreciated.  Listen in Real Audio

Steven and Tim had both bought mountain boards.  The hill in this picture is steeper than it looks.  They like scaring their parents.  Tim has also done more surfing this year and had taken over from his dad as activities leader at Teen Camp.  It's getting increasingly difficult for Victor to take time off for such events as life at AWR is very busy.  However, that has involved some travelling as well.  In the spring he was in the USA in Vegas, St. Louis, Walla Walla but with a stop over in Washington State and an opportunity to visit with his Uncle John and meet the three cousins & their families he hadn't seen in many years.  The photo here is on the pass over the mountains between Centralia and Walla Walla.  Visiting Mt St Helens was one of the highlights of this trip.  Victor is very satisfied with his work.  The letters that come in from listeners have been very positive.

Steven is taking a gap year this year before returning to Newbold in September.  Tim is taking advanced business studies and psychology at sixth form and Amy has started her GCSE course work.  She is enjoying history the most.

Luisa is continuing working with men with learning difficulties.  She has managed two visits to Portugal this year, much to the joy of her parents.

She also continues with her art and craft work, has redesigned the garden (again) and has more plans for the house in 2004 (watch this space).

Sadly Victor lost his father on October 22.  It has been a sad time for the whole family and we miss him.  However, we have the assurance that he had a very sure and certain faith and we can look forward to seeing him again on that great resurrection day.

Wishing God's richest blessings at the Christmas season and for the new year.  Any time you want to write -- or to visit -- we'd love to hear from you.
