The Muntham Court estate is situated just north of Findon village. The flint manor house was demolished in 1961 and as a child I used to explore its ruined and haunted formal gardens. The area is now also the site of Worthing crematorium where I have said goodbye to three dear loved ones. The piece is obviously intended to evoke this memory.
