Beginners’ courses consist of five 2 hour sessions and usually take place twice a year.  The cost is £35.00 per person and this includes the use of club equipment during the course and for a short while afterwards for members.

We teach you the safety procedure for target archery together with the scoring and necessary jargon.  We also aim to get you started with the elements of a good technique to enable you to progress upward.

For the first six sessions that you shoot (including the course) the club’s insurance covers you.  However, after that you will have to affiliate to The Grand National Archery Society – usually referred to as GNAS.  For adults the affiliation fee is £39.00, and £10.00 for juniors under 18.  It would be great if you also felt like joining the club after the course is over.  Membership is £72.00 for adults; £36.00 for juniors and this is on a pro rata basis. We have no additional shooting fees until we move indoors in the winter.

Archery has a handicap system so you can monitor your own progress and most clubs (including Lutterworth) shoot competitive rounds from time to time.  There are also various shoots around the county - and the country - that you can enter.  As long as you are a member of GNAS any archery club in the country should be happy to welcome you to shoot with them.
