The Church, as seen above and in other pictures, is modern, having been built in 1963.  The approach is by steps to a large foyer.  The Sanctuary is reached via a small lobby, with the Minister's vestry and a creche - with a loudspeaker from the church audio system - opening off it.

The Sanctuary has seating for some two hundred people.  There is an elevated pulpit, and an organ built in 1977.  There are also a small electronic organ and a piano.  There is wheelchair access, and a Loop system for those using hearing aids equipped with the 'T' switch.

The congregation generally gathers in a large space at the back of the church for coffee, tea and a chat with friends after the morning service.

Dramatic production and concerts are occasionally held in the church - 'Murder in the Cathedral' was performed during our Tercentenary Year - and an annual church concert, 'Entertainment URC!', is an eagerly-awaited event.

The Longhurst Room
This is a multi-purpose room on the first floor, and projects out from the front of the church, as seen in the picture on the home page.  It is reached by stairs - with a stair-lift - from the foyer.  A kitchen adjoins the Longhurst Room.

There is a new piano, and the room can be divided by heavy curtains for dramatic productions - 'The Happiest Days of Your Life' was performed recently - or, as seen here, for a Service.

Unity Hall
Our new hall, opened in 2001, is built on the back of the church, and faces a large Council-owned car park.

Many church organisations, especially the Youth groups and the Badminton Club, use Unity Hall, with its good-sized main hall, storage rooms and well-equipped kitchen.

Unity Hall is available for hire, and is shown here set out for a Wedding reception.  It is licensed and can cater for 120 people.  The hall now has a Public Entertainment Licence.

For more information contact our Finance & General Purposes Committee.

Car Parking
There is room for some eight/ten cars in front of the church, and there are two nearby Council-run car parks, one at the front of Unity Hall, as seen, and one about 50 metres away across the road from the front of the church.  Please consult the notice-boards for current charges
