Would
you consider filling our vacancy for an organist? We need
someone for our Sunday morning services which start at 10.30 a.m. and
for special occasion services such as Carol Concerts. We don’t
have a choir but the small congregation enjoys singing and are
supportive of the organist. Pre-service voluntaries, hymns
(mostly traditional) and a short postlude are what we have in our
services. This post would suit a student organist or a competent pianist looking to transfer to organ studies. (We transfer to our hall during very cold weather and use our keyboard.)
The organ has a range of stops on three manuals, providing a fair selection of tone colours for all periods of music. There are thumb pistons on all three manuals and some foot pistons. The organ is comfortable to play, it has a detached console enabling the organist to see both the congregation and the minister and so take a full part in the service. It is regularly maintained and tuned.
Don’t hesitate to contact Alan Wood if you’d like to know more. We recognise that committing every Sunday to play for service is a big commitment so be assured that a deputy organist is regularly available.
