We have several facilities installed within the Church and premises to enable people with various disabilities to participate fully in the life of the church. These are outlined here: We provide wheelchair access to the church and to Unity Hall. Just wheel yourself down the left-hand side of the church and in through the door at the end. Then turn right through the door for the church or straight ahead for Unity Hall. Unity Hall can also be approached from Depot Road Car Park by an easy-rising ramp. A wheelchair is available for those who may need to use one while on church premises. A disabled toilet fully equipped to current standards is in Unity Hall. This also includes baby-changing facilities. The church is equipped with a modern sound amplification system and audibility is excellent; a loop system is also installed for those who use hearing aids equipped with the 'T' setting. Those who are not as secure on stairs as they would wish, yet want to go upstairs to the Longhurst Room are invited to use the stair-lift. This covers all bar the two steps at the bottom and top of the flight of stairs. Help is always available for those who need it. A disability is no reason to stay away! |
