GP Le Cheminant automatic watch, fitted with a 25 jewelled AS 1701 movement.
This manual wind movement is non-hacking and has the non-quickset date.
The movement calibre dates this watch to being manufactured between 1955 and 1970.
The watch has the model number 402142.
GP 25J Automatic Watch
A recent addition to the collection, the watch was purchased in late December 2006. Upon inspecting the movement, an AS calibre 1701 movement I noticed that it had the Rotary wings on the ratchet wheel, the remainder of the movement being only marked in the normal manner. I assume at some time the ratchet wheel has been changed and one from a Rotary watch has been used to repair this movement. I have added two photographs of the movement, at the bottom of this page to show the Rotarywinged logo.
