| After studying Graphic Design at Canterbury
College of Art and gaining a degree in Fine Art at Camberwell School
of Art in 1984, John Dilnot went on to study postgraduate printmaking
at Camberwell. He focused on screen printing and made his first artists'
books and box works while at Camberwell.
Dilnot has had many solo shows in the U.K., in particular a
touring show 'In the Country' which was originated by Southern Arts
and accompanied by a catalogue. Other solo shows include Rural Views
at the Aytoun Gallery Manchester and Country Fresh at Buckinghamshire
County Museum Aylesbury.
John Dilnot has been featured in many mixed shows,
including numerous survey shows of artists' books. Mixed shows include,
New Art: North West Cornerhouse, Mostyn Open, A Pool of Signs Bluecoat
Gallery Liverpool, Jolly Peril Paradise Castlefield Gallery Manchester
and Artists' Books Tate Gallery London.
He has received production awards from North West Arts Board and Southern and South East Arts.
John has participated in Chelsea Craft Fair, The London Artists
Book Fair and the Small Publishers Fair. He sells his work through
many outlets in this country and abroad, including The Museum of
Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and the V & A Museum London.
His work is in many private collections and he is represented
