Welcome to my coin collecting site.

I have long fancied collecting Roman coins, ever since I found the lovely silver denarius of Augustus pictured above many years ago whilst metal detecting, but I could never afford to collect them.

I recently found out about the wonderful range of "crusty" bronze coins that are available, and how to clean them.

I've started to put pictures of my small collection of cleaned coins on here.

If you can help me with identifying any of my unknown coins, or give me more information regarding mints issue dates etc for those that I have tentatively identified, I would be really pleased to hear from you.

I am finding that managing to decipher the letters is almost as hard as the cleaning of the coins !
