Martin Lamb and his daughters, circa 1918

Family lines from various, mainly northern towns in England, and some from over the Irish sea. Dock labourers, gas stokers, a marble polisher, bookbinders, one mysterious mariner, a hairdresser, a marine fireman and a shipwright. A tailoress, a crape cleaner, a general servant. Factory workers who were also housewives and mothers. A doffer and a cotton winder in the textile mills.
