Notes:
1) Assumed from his middle name of Richardson that this was his mother's maiden name, as I've seen this use of the mother's maiden name fairly often in my research. Following up on this, the IGI had a record which I'm taking as a match for his parents' marriage - despite the spelling - as it seems the likely record:
Elizabeth Richardson married "Javiss Laughton" on 6 Feb 1814, at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. (Source: IGI British Isles, batch no. M011061)
2) In the 1841 census, next door neighbour is Thomas Richardson, and wife Mary. Thomas is aged 77, occupation "clerk", born outside the county.
In the 1851 census, next door neighbour is again Thomas Richardson, now a widower aged 87. Birthplace now given more specifically as "Hull" (Yorkshire), occupation as "Gentleman".
