The Far Isles Medieval Society


The Guild of Beadworkers

 

This Guild received its Charter at the Investiture of Her Grace the Princess Heloisa (September 1986).

The initial aim of the Guild was to promote itself within the Society and, once a regular membership had been formed, to then promote the art of Beadwork in both a decorative and useful manner.

I believe we achieved this aim when the Guild of Beadworkers had the honour of receiving the first award of the Arts and Sciences Cup within the Far Isles.

Once Beadwork had been established within the Society, the Guild then sought to promote its art in the outside world.  Our members have achieved this by giving talks to Brownie Packs, teaching beadwork over a weekend course and appearing at open days at English Heritage properties.

As with all Guilds within the Society, members can hold certain ranks which are earned in the following way:
