Conditions will often be described as 'Dry', when it is obviously already raining. This is because at least 0.1mm rain needs to fall before it is registered, and, unless the rain is immediately moderate or heavy, it can take quite a while for 'only' 0.1mm to fall, despite our perception of how heavy the rain actually is!!!. It can therefore take some 20 minutes at times, before the conditions will correctly show as 'Raining'. Due to anemometer siting, wind values are very much under recorded from s to w quadrant :

No Special Forecasts at this time |
*** Be very weary of front page Weather headlines in our National Press, in particular The Daily *******. This publication often prints scandalous, scaremongering, and totally incorrect 'forecasts' - These are not official forecasts, and are not provided by the UK Met Office, or any of the reputable commercial weather organisations, but are provided by another commercial organisations that claims to 'forecast' using non meteorological methods. The 'forecasts', and I use that term very reluctantly, are always screaming about 'Hurricane Force winds' or Storm Surge or extreme Arctic or Siberian cold. The organisation that provides these are always well off the mark, indeed they are always unsurprisingly wrong, but the bloke behind the company somehow gets away with claiming accurate and correct forecasts. |
All forecasts are independently produced by and are © TBP Weather Services |

Welcome to the Peterborough Weather Watch website. It's good to have you here! |
This website will bring you up to date weather conditions from the Peterborough area, including 'real time' weather data via an animated display!! YES, you really will be able to monitor temperature changes, gust speed, wind direction, and rainfall as it happens. Webcam images will also be available, making Peterborough Weather Watch the weather website of choice for anyone wanting to know what mother nature is currently serving up to Peterborough!! Also, via this website, you will be able to find details of my weather forecasting services, links to historical station data, 'now and then' local climate comparisons, my take on the current 'Global Warming/Climate Change' debate, in which I go against the media hype on the subject. I will make use of UK climate data records for comparison to my own local records and those of local climate data that I have extrapolated for the region to enable good climatological comparison. A little bit about m. the owner of this site. Although I have been an avid weather watcher for over 35 years, and have been known as an 'amateur meteorologist' for the best part of 20 years, it is only in recent years that I have obtained appropriate equipment to enable me to capture and log accurate records of observed conditions. The data is captured and logged via a PC and appropriate software. My initial Weather Station was set up in late 2003, however my station went out of service from late 2004, until September 2005. Unfortunately, the early data captured was lost due to a PC crash, and yes, you guessed it , I had no backup of the data. Although this data covered less than 12 months, it would still have been a valuable record tracking climate variations in the Peterborough area. I now have continuous data from October 2005 to present and all station data will reference from this date unless otherwise stated. This data can be found on this site by following the appropriate links. Please explore and enjoy !! All feedback is welcomed - email Peterborough Weather Watch |
